The short version: animation, cleanup, background art, comic dubs, and a convention panel.

To elaborate:

- Rough animation of Ivy's Charleston by Sagan Yee!  Dances like this (in which one flaps all about with relative abandon) can be really difficult to time correctly, but Sagan has managed that and has captured Ivy's personality effectively all in one loop.

- We've just on-boarded the animation cleanup team! We have a ton of new artists on the work server, which has been both exhilarating and a wee bit stressful. It's all adding up to some significant progress, though. The sample here, a WIP by Sabina Kipa, cleaning up some of Fable's animation, demonstrates what the big push is right now - clean lines, color and light.

- Some of the very moody art the background design team has been producing lately. These are from the 'secret' Act 3 part of the film that only Patrons are privy to at this time.
Work by frog, Eran Fowler, Cindy Zhi and Yingzhong "Aqua" Hu.

- We released the comic dubs for Shenanigans and Dead-Duck earlier this month! And I forgot to even mention it here!? Because I am extremely tired all of the time!  (Sorry about that.)

- Tonight, March 25th, at 9pm EST / 6pm PST, I'm joining MouseGuard's David Petersen for OnlineCon. I'll be discussing the comic and animated film project. It's completely free to attend my guest panel and all of the others over the weekend at David's Twitch Channel

This animation is taking a long time but quality does take time and work and when it is finished I will be very happy 😁

I have a feeling your animated pilot is going to be just spectacular...!

Holy crap that charleston is NUTS! So many little details: the heal angles, the necklace bounce, the ear movement... fantastic job. Can't wait to see this thing!

I do not have an account on Twitch, but if Mr. Petersen has a YouTube account I would look into it.

Great art, as always - and we really enjoyed your podcast with David. Thanks for sharing insights into your creativity!

No, no, I'm not complaining! I backed the KICKSTARTER too! I'm just not into all the behind the scenes stuff. 😅 not before I see the short anyway, I wanna be surprised. I just miss the comic is all.

I'm sorry I missed it! EDIT: I am dumb! The video is up here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/962699962?filter=all&sort=time

Ooh, these previews have me excited for the film! One note on the Charleston animation, though, as someone who has danced many a classic jazz/swing dance and done some study on the matter -- balled fists are not what you want, unless you're making a specific creative statement with them here. Dancing solo charleston should involve extended fingers and relaxed hands in the basic movement, and sharper/posed fingers/hands can be used for emphasis with specific "moves" or to get a specific stylistic effect. Making a fist tenses the arm muscles in a way which is not conducive to the natural movement of the dance and doesn't look right.
