Good news: people like me enough to start pirating my content. That's a compliment.

Bad news: people are pirating my paid content.

I'm not linking to it, but I'm posting here as proof that the comment in that place is me.

For $5, you can get all the stuff I've ever made. I've given out hundreds of free sets. I feel like I've been super generous to this community.

I'm currently deciding if I should continue, and if I do, how. If I see any more of my paid content posted in other channels, that's it. That will tip the scales and make my decision for me. I'll have to be done. No more art. Or if I continue, I won't be releasing it to anyone. I make these first and foremost for my own satisfaction.

Sorry to post an update like this, but that's what my boundary is. The leak had to have occurred from someone in this group. I'm not gonna force anyone to do anything or react super rashly or any some such, just letting you know, I've already thought about this and this is how it will go. If I see more paid content posted, I'm done. That's how I'll behave.

If you like my stuff and want me to continue, and you see paid stuff getting posted around, then please get it taken down and use this post as reference. Piracy has caused many other artists to leave this community, and I intentionally chose generosity and good will as my anti-piracy strategy. Part of that is also incentivizing everyone who wants more to help preserve that, too. But if it doesn't work, I'm not interested in any of the other available approaches I see work in this community.

That's it. Rest is up to you.

I found you through pirated posts and then chose to subscribe so hopefully good will come of it.

I also found your (probably) pirated stuff with links to your patreon and deviantart page asking to support you. That's how I got here. <3

...why did this post here, I was on another artists profile.

Sucks to hear that. I don't understand why someone would pay for something and then make it available for everyone else for free. If you decide to discontinue, it will only be your fans that suffer. But if that's what you have to do, then do it. We will miss you though!

simplegreenbag

If I decide to stop, and it's on good terms, you won't be disappointed. Trust me ;) But if it's not, then I can't reveal ahead of time what my course of action will be beyond what I have

I know you are upset and you should be. You are the last and one of my faves posting here on Patreon. I will not subscribe, sponsor, or donate to anyone else if you leave. So with that, you are the only one left for me to even be on Patreon. You SHOULD be compensated for your fine work and the large amounts you share (much of it for free). I cannot and will not involve myself in actively challenging a web site or individual on piracy. Not because I am pro piracy (I am not). Because, nothing ever happens. DA MAY do something. Others usually ignore. It leaves me open for unwanted attacks. I can, if you wish, report the offending site/individual to you so you can address the situation on your terms. I will support any decision you make but do not wish you to abandon ship just yet. Sadly, my own sites are down until AZ gets them back up as he is the expert on coding. Not sure what happened. My frustration is about to say screw it all and find another hobby. But I will hang in there as long you do brother.

I love your work and i can't imagine how utterly aggravating finding your work is being pirated. I will try and support you no matter your decision. Good Luck!

Sorry to hear that you are having this issue. I hope you don't close your DA account, because you do some mighty fine and interesting stuff.

I will always be a supporter of yours. I'm sorry people are pirating you

There's always one idiot! :(

Piracy does happen, it's both a complement and an insult. I donate because i support the art, don't let a few fools ruin your motivation! :)

Piracy is going to happen, people are going to share your works, if you're going to be in this business, learn to deal with it mentally and emotionally. Most importantly, take advantage of it; since your post here, you've gained several subscribers. Right now you are hard to find but are definitely a Gem in the rough from an artistic standpoint. Lots of artists can draw, but you can make the art and write. Going from 93 to a few hundred subscribers will change what is a hobby into a good income earner for you. The main way to get there is to keep making art and finding ways to make it efficienty. Penny arcade could care less if someone sold every webcomic they've ever done; they make 3 a week and that's what keeps the audience coming back. I would give taking advantage of the pirates a try use them for free advertising. Stand up a personal website, post on it a few times a year, have a landing page on their for "This is where to find more" e.g. www.simplegreenbag.com\MOAR. Doing websites these days is something a retarded monkey can set up and might set you back $20 a month if even. Check out hostgator or networksolutions. Adding a quick intro and outro slide to your sets with the site on it. That way if things get too dicey with Pateron you can switch and take your subscribership, new and old, with you. I'd slice up your content into quarters, years, half-years, et-cetera and sell them piecemeal for $15 or $20 a pop so the content on your patreon page doesn't look stale. Then, and this is the most important part. I'd make a story line where the girls are pirates, and [Insert horrible, unmentionable fate] is what happens to pirates. : - )
