 Painting the background for them opened up so much about their world to me. Instead of traditional wood, a cellophane polymer naturally grows from the ground and is a general base of most trees. And obsidian stalactites grow in caves that are easy to mine and act as this worlds de facto steel. Gold is still as valuable as ever though.
