was her hair always more than one shade like that and I just didn't notice, or is this either a) a new flourish you're putting into the art or b) an effect of the potion?

Its more a new flourish. I was feeling really limited by the way that I was just blacking in her hair, so I decided to treat it like I do with my other black haired characters and allow for some line art to show. I should probably make an artists note when I post this on DA.
