(TV) Breaking News: The new superhero Jade Jacket has returned once again after her month long absence. Just today, shoppers at the East Broadway Mall were terrorized after a sudden villain attack that forced people to flee for their lives, but Jade Jacket arrived at the scene and quickly devoured the villain whole. Many people question the ethics of this superhero's actions, but there is no denying her effectiveness. The police department has issued a statement advising citizens to stay vigilant and not approach Jade Jacket, lest they be mistaken for a villain and consumed. More updates to come.

(Friend switches off TV)

(Jade enters through the front door)

“Uuuughh… God, home sweet home!”

{BURP}

“Oof …it really is a miracle it’s so foggy outside. Perfect weather for stealthy flying.”

“And now I need a nap and a nice long— baAAAA???!”

(She notices her friend is in her house and shrieks in surprise.)

“What…wh…what are you doing in my apartment?!”

“Pet sitting? …Right, yeah I forgot about…that…um…I did ask you to do that while I was away…”

“How, uh, how is Shelly doing, by the way?”

(Friend shows Jade her pet turtle is doing alright.)

“Oh, she’s so cute! Look at her! Look at this cute little turtle! Look at her cute turtle smile! Hehe…”

“Uh…this…my outfit. This is um…cosplay!”

“Y-yeah! Yeah I really am a huge Jade Jacket fan and I was um…cosplaying! This belly is a fake, too. It’s actually a beach ball full of water and, uh—”

{BURP}

“Ugh, who am I kidding?”

{SIGH}

“You found me out…”

“I’m…I’m a superhero…”

(Friend says they knew all along)

“What? You…you knew all along!? Since when!?”

“The Devil Hammer incident… Yeah, I guess that makes sense…”

“Damn it…you weren’t supposed to find out!”

“No, it’s not fine! Now you’re…involved!”

“Every superhero knows you can’t let your friends and family know your secret identity! That’s like, rule number one!”

{SIGH}

(Friend tells her to settle down)

“You’re right, I should settle down.”

{deep breath in}

{deep breath out}

“At least now I don’t have to stress out about keeping it a secret from you. It was honestly super draining to have to lie to you all the time.”

{BURP}

“Eheh…’scuse me.”

“You probably think this is a little weird…it’s okay, I know my powers are…a bit unconventional. I get weirded out by it too.”

(Friend says they’re not weirded out)

“You’re…not weirded out? Not even a little repulsed?”

“That’s…well, that’s a huge relief, actually.”

“I was scared that if you found out, you might call me a freak or something.”

“Or a ‘menace to society.’”

“But I guess I was worried for nothing.”

“I think we better sit down for this. I need to rest up after my brawl with…well, my impromptu lunch.”

{SIGH} (Flopping down on the couch)

“Ahhhh yeahhh~ This feels much better already~”

“I’m sure you have a lot of questions. I would too if I were in your position. And seeing as I’m not really going anywhere right now, you might as well ask away.”

“I don’t mind. I think I owe it to you after keeping this a secret for so long.”

“Go ahead, ask away.”

“Ah, right, my powers.”

“I got them from an old lady, I think she might’ve been an alien.”

“One day I was transported into a weird room and there was an old lady who was all like, ‘You are the chosen one~!’ and she gave me these clothes.”

“Yeah, I…didn’t really sleep at all that night.”

“She told me everything about how the clothes work and then just put me back and vanished.”

“My jacket—”

{BURP}

“‘Scuse me…”

“My jacket gives me the ability to fly. My left sock grants me super strength and my right sock gives me super durability. And the mask gives me immunity to poison and disease. It’s basically a super advanced medical device.”

“My ability to eat people comes from…uh…”

“Okay, don’t laugh…”

{SIGH}

“It comes from my underwear.”

(Friend laughs)

“Hey! I told you not to laugh!”

“Psh, whatever~ No one ever said being a superhero wasn’t a little ridiculous, let’s be real.”

“Hehe.”

“Alright, that’s one question out of the way. Got any more?”

(Friend asks what it’s like to eat people)

“Well, it kinda feels like eating a regular meal. Except, you know, regular food doesn’t usually fight back. When I swallow someone down, I can feel my body morphing as they go down my throat and into my stomach.”

“No, it doesn’t hurt at all. Feels kinda nice, actually, and having a full stomach afterward feels even better!”

“You know, it feels weird to say, but…villains actually taste amazing.”

“Ever since I started crime fighting, I’ve been getting these cravings that are, like, pretty strong.”

“Uh, for the record, I didn’t mean to digest this villain. I swear I was going to regurgitate her, but then her henchmen started attacking me, and I had to take care of them before they hurt anyone, and uh…well, my stomach works faster than I want it to sometimes.”

“Fights do get out of control sometimes…”

{BURP}

“Ugh, I wish she would digest more quietly.”

“I’ll have to watch my weight, too. If I get any chubbier, people are going to get suspicious.”

“I think that just about covers everything.”

“Do you promise not to tell anyone I’m Jade Jacket?”

“Really? Pinkie promise, okay?”

“Thanks. You’re the best!”

“If you tell anyone, I’ll definitely eat you as punishment.”

{BURP}

“Ehehe...uh…kidding, of course.”

“Could you turn on the TV? I want to watch something to take my mind off of all this superhero business.”

(TV) This just in: A villain attack is currently taking place in the downtown area. Eyewitnesses report that a figure dressed in all black is wreaking havoc on the streets. There are also reports of unnatural weather patterns: strong winds, rain, and large amounts of fog all occurring in the same area. The local authorities have urged citizens to remain indoors and avoid the rainstorm. The identity of the villain is unknown at this time, and it is not yet clear what their motive may be.
