Ad-free guides on SirTapTap.com for Patrons (Beta) (Patreon)

Something I've wanted for quite some time is to have real ad-free status on Sirtaptap.com for my Patreons, not just "adblock forgiveness". I finally have a method, though it's not quite perfect. That's why this is a "beta" and I'm only posting this to my existing patrons.

Ad-free status will be added to the Patreon reward tiers if all goes well. I may be able to host patreon-only content on my site in the future too.

Try It Out (Beta)

To try it out just head on over to https://sirtaptap.com/login and click Login With Patreon. An account will be created for you and you can log into the site.

Accounts will NOT be ad-free just upon logging in though (that's the current pain point). 

Instead, email me (contact@sirtaptap.com) or send a Patreon direct message and tell me that you've created an account; this is just so I can verify and tick a box that will get you ad-free. After verification there's nothing you need to do but log in with Patreon to get ad-free status.

Once this is "out of beta" I'll be adding a login button on my site so it's easier to use this feature. Let me know any hiccups you experience, but it should be pretty simple.

Technical mumbo jumbo

The reason it's not purely automatic is that *anyone* with a patreon account can use the plugin to create an account, and the plugin lacks a feature to assign roles or block account creation for people who don't actually have support pledged. 

So for now I have to manually verify users, but once verified you're good, it's all a one-time deal. Hoping in the future it will be streamlined, but that's all up to Patreon at this point.
