[Welcome 'Jake Barriss' to the 'Underhill Dungeon'. As the first 'Light' alignment being to enter the dungeon, you are entitled to double XP for twenty-four hours, as well as enhanced drops from the dungeon chests.]

"This is another one of those damned common sense things I missed in the briefing with the queen and the guild..." I muttered with a frown as I was well aware that there was so much in this world that people just took as a matter of fact. The levels, yup that's normal, dungeons that spawned loot somehow? Yup totally normal and not worth mentioning...

But regardless as I clicked on the 'underhill dungeon' my lips twitched upwards into a more relaxed state. [Underhill Dungeon. Level 1] [Produces one Goblin per day. Three 'Wooden' chests are available within the dungeon currently.]

I didn't know how 'intelligent' or what level of sentience the dungeon had, or even if I should/could break it. But in the end, I was paid to clear out the goblins so that was what I was going to do.

Going deeper into the dungeon's long hallway I came to an endpoint and the next room was a large open room with a small bonfire going with what looked like a dozen goblins clad in only loincloths watching the deer that was being cooked within the fire.

I took in the goblins and my lips twitched as I realized they didn't even look to be armed or anything so with an inhale I stepped out of the shadows filling the tunnel leading into the large room and I used my blink ability to teleport directly next to the larger goblin who was spinning the deer carcass on the stick it was mounted on.

A guttural crunching noise rang out. My hand and a half sword pulped through the goblin skull leaving half its head attached as I completed the blow and then without pausing I spun around and held the sword almost loosely with one hand at the end of the handle. Which I swiped in a wide arc as I pulsed lightning out of my body creating an arc of solid lightning that coated my magical blade with the lightning carving through a few of the goblin's chests and heads depending on the speed in which they stood up from my surprise attack.

"Meat!" A goblin screamed hysterically as it charged at me from behind and after a moment of thought, I threw back my draconic wings which were coated in lightning and the thick leather-like wings shocked the shit of the out goblin like a fly being smacked by an electric fly swatter.

"No. You are meat." I muttered frowning as I stabbed one goblin in the chest with my sword but had to let go of my sword as another goblin grabbed my leg from the side so I coated my fingers with dense almost solid lightning and I could feel my lightning coated fingers burn its way through the goblins skull like using a red hot knife on some styrofoam.

With the goblin removed from my leg, I was able to blink behind the last few goblins with my sword freed from the corpse of the last goblin and as I came out of the Blink, I swung my sword wide carving through two goblins before running out of momentum and then with another swing I killed the last goblin leaving the room silent except for the crackling fire and my exhales of breath.

"I am not that great with multiple enemies," I muttered as I flexed my hand which was numb after running so much lightning through it.

'Was the queen and that knight trying to tell me to get a slave or something, to help me fight without having to worry about trust issues or being betrayed?' I thought as I went about claiming proof of the kills but noticed how each Goblin ear was labeled as a dungeon drop.

Honestly... Things here were 'too easy' I actually was surprised there weren't some nobles or some church of assholes who wanted me dead. But then again I could just be missing them, and who is to say the other nations won't want my head on a spike after New Atha summoned me.

With the thoughts running deep in my head, I flinched as a dumping noise rang out and looking at the noise I blinked at the source of the noise.

A classic wooden chest lined with metal hinges was sitting innocently in the middle of the room towards the next tunnel leading deeper into the dungeon.

I walked over to the chest, and after a moment of hesitation passed without blinking I stabbed the chest with my sword with the metal blade shattering the wooden top of the chest with a loud crunching noise and I exhaled in relief at seeing the chest wasn't a fucking Mimic.

It didn't matter to me if it was a low-level chest... I was going to stab every chest and pot in this world while in a dungeon. 'Fuck you DM's who made 'mimic' chairs and doors, you deserve to die in a fire!' I thought spitefully as I pulled the chest open and laying innocently within the chips of the broken chest were a small stack of five silver bars each the size of my thumb basically.

"Fifty ounces of silver altogether basically?" I mused aloud as I estimated the weight of each bar of silver before tossing them into my inventory so I could sell them for New Atha coinage back in the capital.

I took out some water from my inventory and after taking a small break I continued going deeper into the dungeon, heading downwards the somewhat slopping path that was sparsely lit by dim lanterns hanging on the dungeon walls. Which left pitch-black shadows against the walls and the divots in the wall, and I was ever so thankful that there were no monsters hiding in the divots in the walls.

After a minute or two later of walking, I seemingly reached the end of the dungeon being a single large room that was well-lit by a central hanging chandelier with lanterns lining the central room's walls.

The whole dungeon's floor so far had been a semi-smooth granite that was smooth but not polished smooth, so I still got good traction on the floor, but in the middle of the room, the white marble floor had turned black. And in the middle of the room was a raised platform.

Atop the platform looked to be a bed of thick moss, leaves, and reeds. And atop the bed of debris were three clearly female goblins lying with a larger goblin. 'A hobgoblin?' I thought as I took in the goblin that was a solid five feet tall instead of the typical three-and-a-half-foot-tall normal goblins I had killed previously.

"Mating more?" One of the female goblins groaned in their guttural voice that was the norm for the goblins and with that, I blinked forward... I wasn't going to wait and listen to Goblin sex for god's sake!

Even as the Hobgoblin's eyes widened in terror as I teleported to the side of his pile of debris that made up his bead, he wasn't able to react quickly enough with his hands wrapped around the barely feminine forms of the goblins in his bed and before he could throw his women to the side, I slammed my sword down through his chest and I could hear the crunching noise as my sword went through branches that made up the bottom of the bed.

Then with my sword stuck in the hobgoblin's chest, I took a quick breath as I coated my hands in lightning and as one of the goblins leapt at me trying to claw out my eyes I punched it in the chest with the lightning coating my fist cracking and frying the goblins skin.

'I really need to learn how to not lose my sword when I ram it into something.' I couldn't help but think as I used my lightning-coated hands to dispatch the last three goblins and as I wrenched my sword out of the hobgoblin's chest who was still twitching and finished him off. I heard a dinging noise.

[Underhill Dungeon Boss Monster Cleared!] [Either destroy the dungeon core and receive bonus EXP and the title 'Dungeon Slayer' Or take the two spawned Dungeon Chests, their rewards and leave.] The announcement told me and I frowned.

I didn't know the value in a title at all which was something I should really have been told of. 'Shoudnt I have a 'Chosen One' title or something?' I thought with some humor before shaking my head and shrugging as I walked over to the dungeon chests.

I didn't know the value of a dungeon itself. For all I knew, dungeons were the state property of New Atha, and having the title would give me a shit load of issues... Best to get an idea of what was happening, and in the worst case I could come back, as the large glowing gem inlaid into the floor under the goblins bedding was clearly the dungeon core.

After throwing some rocks and stabbing the spawned dungeon chests to make sure they weren't mimics of a sort, I got the loot. For a level 1 dungeon, they obviously weren't that great honestly. One of the chests had three more silver bars and a small golden coin, and the other chest had a weird tooth of some kind, which I obviously pocketed to find out why the dungeon wanted to give it to me in a chest.

And with all that done, my mission was considered completed with all proof of all the kills taken. I made my way back to the small town that Isha, my quest giver was apparently in charge of.

But as I finished collecting all my loot and was leaving, I realized that the dungeon core had disappeared which obviously meant that I couldn't double dip and get the dungeon slayer title and bonus EXP.

So with nothing left here, I continued on and left the dungeon. As I physically left the dungeon I heard a grinding noise and a marble stone door had seemingly teleported into the gate of the dungeon's tunnel past its initial landing.

So with the dungeon sealed up or something for now, I headed back over to the town a couple miles away to turn in the misson.

-

Thankfully there was a new guard standing atop the gate and seeing me, the younger man shouted out in greeting while ringing a bell to alert other guards or the people within the town. "Hey, you are the goblin dude right?" He called out and I nodded with him smiling and looking back and then continuing. "Alright sweet, Isha is already on her way over here now." He finished.

Then the young man stood up from his seat and pushed open the lever to open the gates with him saying. "Come on in." And even as I did so, I could easily see Isha walking down the towns central road with a slight limp in her right side.

"Jake! Good news I hope?" Isha spoke loudly and as she clapped me on the shoulder my lips twitched as her massive breasts barely held in place by some kind of nylon like spandex jiggled distractingly. 'Damned hentai physics.' I thought before coughing and after a moment I spoke softly.

"I am not sure honestly... I killed the goblins but there's more, and I would like to speak with you privately about the quest." I said evenly and her hand around my shoulder tightened slightly before she grinned and shouted over at the guard.

"Keep up the good work John, I got to debrief and get our friend settled in for the night." She said pulling me deeper into the town.

I was fine with her trying to get me a room at the inn... But it was weird she was just taking it as fact that I was staying here in the town for tonight.

But then it hit me. This was a fantasy world, supposedly on the verge of devastation by monsters... Obviously running around in the dark would be a terrible ass idea.

Isha took me to her own cottage-style house that was a good wide single-story house and I could see a small smithy on the side of the house built into the house's fire place which was rather smart actually.

I was welcomed into her house and she led me to a couch as she sheepishly said. "I live alone as the mayor/guardian with no family so no need to worry about prying ears... So tell me what's up Jake." She said folding her arms under her large breasts as she eyed me seriously.

I took a moment to gather my thoughts and then I spoke about the dungeon I found, how it was a level one dungeon and that I was the first one to find it and get the bonus for finding it. And how I killed all the goblins within it, and then displayed a couple of the ears and the hobgoblin's ears.

All the while Isha grinned with an utterly ecstatic smile and as I finished. With how I took the dungeon loot. She cheered loudly! "Yes! We have our own dungeon! Yes yes yes!" Isha leaned over the small table and before I could react I was crushed face first into her massive breasts as she stood on her good leg and spun me around with utter glee.

I eventually got free of the marshmallow prison by patting Isha on the back and she sheepishly let me go as she said with heartfelt thanks. "Jake, thank you so much for reporting this to me and not just snagging the dungeon slayer title... It means the world to the village, now we can easily throw the leftover parts of corpses of other monsters we cannot use, into the dungeon to make the dungeon spawn monsters for us to slay and easily level up our low-level civilians!"

Just more proof of me missing common sense of things in this world but regardless I smiled wryly and said evenly. "Well, now that I know that information and how valuable it is to you guys. I am glad I didn't get the title then..."

She shuddered with her eyes tightening at the thought and I realized it would be the equivalent of someone in my old world killing the proverbial golden goose for the eggs within. "Now... How about instead of sleeping in the inn beds that probably have some bed bugs. Why don't you sleep here on this pull out bed so I can make you a home cooked dinner to show my appreciation?" Isha said with a smile and I raised an eyebrow before nodding.

'Doing great favors or work for people in the old days. With there being little methods of transportation back then, typically led to people spending the night over. So they could travel with the dawns light. Its nothing unusual.' I thought before adding on with a cheerful smile. "Then I will be in your care Isha, thank you for having me!"
