Tallon 4 was a massive planet with many diverse biomes filled with very hostile life forms that had been made ultra fuck you hostile, due to the Phazon that had landed upon the planet centuries ago. But even with how hostile the planet was, in the wake of literally hundreds of advanced satellites being released into the atmosphere we hit the money in finding targets of interest... As well as finding the Space Pirate ship already having crash landed into the forest a few dozen miles away.

"So in the Southern Ice caps, there is a large Space Pirate research facility with short-range space-capable frigate vessels that are used to ferry supplies and other specimens which is an obvious and easier target. Or should we go for the crash-landed space capital ship?" I questioned as honestly, both targets were good... But there was one major issue.

Commander White spoke through the comms system her voice filled with annoyance as she spoke. "Unfortunately the capital ship landed directly into a lake so it's clearly flooded so who knows the status of the technology within the crashed remains of the capital ship... It's up to you Jake, but I suggest the capital ship despite the amount of work it will take you and YoRHa to secure." White finished.

I nodded as the whole reason I accepted going to Metroid was the higher-tier space technology that Samus and the other factions within this universe had available. After a moment I sighed and nodded. "Well, we landed here in the forest not far from the crashed ship but even with the ship having crashed the Space Pirates are a hardy race engineered literally for war so make sure the B, D, and S units that come to study the ship are well armed," I ordered and White acknowledged my decision with a grunt of agreement as 2B got up from her cot we set up in the tent that were staying within.

"Draining, and rerouting a lake will be no easy task, Jake." 2B said bluntly. And I couldn't agree with her more... But being able to dredge up the remains of the ship and be able to study it at our leisure without the hostile underwater fauna that was already flooding into the crevices of the ship would make the whole experience so much easier.

"Tell Jeanne to be on stand-by I will need her semblance to boost my magic," I told White before hesitating and I ended up smiling with a funny expression. "Actually belay that... Let's give Salem a workout and see her flex her magical muscles." I said and I could hear White's snort from the comms as she knew Salem would find this world traveling... Interesting.

"It's your brain and ears going to melt as she studies the magical nature of the area around you," White said snorting before I heard the comms crackle as White transferred me over to Salem who was still living peacefully in the so-called Grimm Lands but minus the Grimm Pools that would endlessly spawn the Grimm due to my Guardian drinking all the darkness pools down to the bedrock.

Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that the Darkness Pools were actually the leftover bad karma and filth in a person's soul that got washed away when they went into Remnant's weird afterlife process, so within the next few millennia the Darkness Pools would recover their energy and begin creating Grimm again... But that was so far from now I wasn't worried about it at all.

"So you call upon me in your time of need I see, Jake Barriss." Salem's smokey voice spoke through the comms and I smiled wryly at 2B who folded an arm over her breasts and just eyed me through her blindfold waiting for me to react to Salem's teasing and not-so-hidden thirst.

"Salem, I am in need of your magical power in terraforming and diverting a lake and gently lifting a very delicate and important ship from the mud of the lake and onto a dense stable platform so we can begin studying it and incorporating its technology," I explained with a bit of pleading in my voice and I could hear Salem rolling the thought in her head as she clearly was considering it was some kind of sailing or cargo ship that went on water instead of a space ship which even with internet access and constantly being on it somehow she never got used to higher forms of technology greater than a car or plane.

"Hmph... Very well, I have a few hours until my soaps start streaming and I need to start knitting another pair of socks." Salem finished and I shivered as I felt Salem grabbing hold of the Darkness Portal I opened into her castle to travel to this universe.

Never say Salem wasn't a powerful and versatile sorceress as she had nothing to do but mess with her magic for several millennia when she was cursed.

Within moments, on this end, the Darkness Portal roared into life with Salem's pale legs stepping through it as she was wearing a beautiful white dress with slits in the legs that exposed the sides of her legs and was obviously backless due to her large angelic wings that grew from her back with how I used my Gap control to flip her corruption and darkness into purity and light.

But as Salem stepped out I frowned as I saw red specks turning into eyes that popped up within my darkness portal so I pulled Salem into my arms as a dozen large elephant-sized Hercules Beetle-looking monsters with thick plating and frontal scythe arms rushed out of the portal I hurriedly closed.

"Guardian," I spoke and the world itself darkened as my thin shadow darkened into pitch darkness, and from it came a massive arm that slammed into the ground beside us, and then from that pool of darkness below us came my Guardian in its new form that mirrored the Pureblooded Heartless the Darkside in the thirty-meter tall figure of immortal darkness.

"I forgot this world's concept was darkness wasn't so empty," I muttered frowning alongside Salem as she shivered at the sight of the dark monsters that should have only been seen in Metroid Prime 2.

The Metroid Prime universe was basically Warhammer 40k without the Chaos Gods, and the races weren't so antagonistic for the most part with humanity itself not being ultra-racist either. But there were certainly plenty of super-advanced races that had pulled an elder scrolls dwarf and basically transcended the universe. Or could live and travel into the mirroring darkness or light version of the base reality...

It was complicated but as my Guardian just pulled an Eren Yeager and ate all the cowering monsters that couldn't handle the weight of the massive shadow monster I controlled, Salem spoke with a flat voice. "Well, your interdimensional portals aren't so perfect after all... Anyway lead me to this lake Jake, we will raise the ship with a pillar of stone into the air so that you will repay my efforts by sharing a blanket with me as I watch my soaps with all the air conditions running." Salem announced making me roll my eyes at how needy Salem was.

"Just kill any animals and humanoid beings not in an orange or purple armor suit. This world is extremely hostile and literally everything including the more complicated plants wants you dead." I said dryly and as though in answer a large bird screamed and dived down at us with balls of plasma forming in its mouth that it began shooting at us but before those bolts or the bird could reach us the bird and its plasma balls were blasted out of the air with the ear ringing anti-air gun that shot several thousand rounds a minute... Basically, liquifying the slow-flying bird with the screeching 'Brrrt' noise.

Salem at seeing the bird's remains opened her mouth to say something but then the corpse of the bird exploded like a hand grenade as whatever allowed the bird to shoot balls of superheated plasma didn't like being shot full of lead and being exposed to the air. And seeing that Salem closed her mouth... Nodded and then spoke dryly. "Very well I will be killing anything we see... I hate nature anyway."
