Chapter 53 (Patreon)

When I landed at Beacon it was about ten in the morning and according to the signs, they had up, the welcoming speech and tour would be after lunch.

So, I just relaxed in the Atrium, people watching as the students that arrived with the bullhead, I arrived already seemed to be sorting themselves into their own cliques.

"Heya Jake!" I heard Nora call out exuberantly from across the room and as the excited orange haired girl ran over, I realized even with Ren powerwalking over to hopefully keep Nora in control. Nora and Yang were going to make sure my stay in Beacon were going to be stressful.

I had that thought as Nora kicked over one of the steel chairs legs the staff had set out for us students to sit in, tripping over it, and as Nora fell I saw a few of her grenades fall out of her pocket and hit the ground.

I couldn't help but close my eyes with my Aura ready for the coming explosion but a couple seconds later I heard Ren admonishing Nora and realized they weren't going to go off that easily.

"Nora, you need to be more careful." Ren said yawning as he helped Nora back to her feet and then the duo went and sat beside me.

Thankfully with how I was sitting at the end of a line of seats, and Ren was sitting beside me, Nora wasn't able to constantly question me as though that didnt deter her from trying to include me in some conversation or tall tale of her.

Another hour or so later as I got a bit more comfortable with the duo, the next group of people arrived we listened to Ozpins speech about becoming more than we were and about how were about to be sent onto our initiation in the morning, and after the speech I saw the cannon cast in their entirety... For the most part.

"Is it just me... Or is that blond girl seems. Uh unprepared." I said in confusion as I saw a rather busty blond girl wearing short jean shorts and a size too small hoodie with a rabbit stretched across her chest.

"Uhhh... Maybe she is just nervous." Nora said weakly as we watched what was obviously a gender bent Jaune Arc stumbling after Ruby Rose who ran ahead of her to her sister Yang Xiao-Long.

"I bet you a stack of pancakes, she doesn't even have aura." I spoke dryly and Nora's chair clattered and although I couldn't see her expression, I knew she was thinking about what she would be willing to bet, but I offered the stakes before she could come up with something outlandish. "Nora if I am wrong and we both get into Beacon, I will treat you and Ren to Pancakes at a restaurant in Vale."

"Deal!"

Ren meanwhile couldn't help but facepalm at how Nora instantly agreed so I just nudged his shoulder to show my sympathy for how he has had to guide/control Nora.

"Let's go see now if that's the case!" Nora said excitedly and without any care she grabbed us both by an arm and began dragging us over to the stranded blonde who had left rather than be third wheel for Ruby and Yang as they shared a sisterly conversation. "Hey, you blondie, do you have your Aura unlocked." Nora asked surprisingly quiet after she got the blond away from Ruby and Yang.

"Umm my name is Jeanne, and I haven't gotten my, what unlocked." Jeanne asked cluelessly as she blinked in confusion.

"No pancakes for Nora!" I said in a singing tone making the Valkyrie stamp her foot violently on the ground in frustration and in doing so literally crack the stone marble floor beneath her making Jeanne's eye widen in surprise at seeing the supernatural feat.

"Look... We are literally going to be thrown off a cliff in the morning and I can see you are a farm girl with little idea of what you are getting into." I said before I got into the information, I knew of Beacon's initiation and the survival rates for our little jaunt being violently launched off a cliff into the Grimm infested forest surrounding Beacon.

"Aura is best put, a force field that can protect your physical body and augment your strength with a couple more benefits." I explained the bare bones as I honestly didnt really know the ins and outs for Aura other than using it protect me, let alone figuring out my Semblance.

"Can you unlock it! I don't wanna get killed on a tree!" She whispered looking around furtively to see if anyone else was looking at her like she didnt belong here.

I shook my head as I didnt trust myself to fiddle fuck her soul like Miltia did to mine. "I don't know how exactly it brought out but it's pretty apparent when it's done." I said making my arm glow a dark red as my Aura was brought to the surface.

Nora and Ren then made their Aura's flare lightly before Ren sighed giving Jeanne and me a look. "I will tell you how exactly to do it, but I can't do it for you Jeanne, I am sorry." He said contritely.

"Yeah, if Ren unlocks another girl's aura, I will break her legs!" Nora said with zero shame.

Jeanne desperately looked to me and I nodded promising to do so after Ren taught me how to.

'I wonder if I can unlock an a YoRHa android's Aura?' I internally mused before listening to Ren's little mini lecture until after a solid ten minutes after of Ren going over the finer details in turning someone's soul inside out, I heard someone speaking loudly not far away and realized they were talking about me.

"Yeah, and we can talk about cute boys like the little Atlas academy reject over there!" Weiss said sarcastically as she pointed at me.

"Really!" Ruby said excitedly but Weiss shut her down harshly and eventually stomped off with a huff but I didnt like being called an army school reject as my clothes were made in the style of YoRHa's colors scout form with actual pants, so with a cough I threw a solid lump of air that hit Weiss's foot and made her high heeled clad feet slip on the smooth stone floors making her crumple to the ground.

"I suppose Atlas's culture must not teach their ladies how to walk on flat surfaces..." I called out sarcastically, making Weiss turn bright red as the person she just pointed out for a joke made fun of her culture.

"How rude..." She muttered stalking off but visibly being careful to not trip again.

I turned back to Jeanne who was listening to Nora tell a story about how she and Ren stole a vehicle from a bandit clan when they were making their way here to Beacon and how the truck's back, they stole was literally full of smoked cheese and beef jerky strips and after they lived off that for a week, not even the Grimm wanted to approach as they smelled so nasty.

"Jeanne I will unlock your Aura tonight when everyone calms down and we can get a bit of privacy in one of the rooms corners. I am going to talk to Professor Goodwitch about some advice as we have similar fighting styles." I said giving the visibly more at ease blond girl a pat on the back as I walked over to the older blond who was seemingly watching over us prospective students to make sure we didnt take our weapons and kill one another after a couple hours of knowing one another.

Even as I walked towards the combat teacher, I noticed Pyrrha Nikos had already changed into her pajama's and was just scrolling through her scroll wearing headphones to keep people from bugging her.
