Kitsune in Teyvat Chapter 20 (Patreon)

"Sumeru is quite beautiful you know," Nahida spoke casually as she sat with her hand laid out on her lap.

I raised an eyebrow but nodded saying. "In terms of the life within Sumeru I have to agree. The jungles are filled with endless life and the desert itself has a song of its own with each wind caressing the sands and brushing through its canyons and valleys."

Nahida chuckled softly before she lounged backward slightly to look at me fully. "But you are still leaving... And so soon after helping free me from my cage. To say nothing of making me more powerful and allowing me to fit into Sumeru more easily then if I was in my child-like form." 

I gave Nahida a once over and my lips twitched at her beautiful form that was almost as curvaceous as my adoptive mother's prodigious form. But Nahida wore a far more conservative dress then the Raiden Shogun to say the least.

"Hmph, you may be a cute kitsune but you shouldn't eye a woman like that." She scolded me lightly but there was no hiding the amusement in her voice.

I just rolled my eyes and said flatly. "Bah, not even twenty-four hours ago our forms were that of children... We are both getting used to our new bodies. Anyway, yeah I am thinking about heading back over to Liyue. The Fatui are going to be spitting mad at me."

Nahida's amused expression dulled before she hummed and said with some caution. "Indeed they will be. I know that Arlechinno has been dispatched from Fontainne to come capture you to see if the energy from the Gnosis can be extracted." 

Pausing at that information... I recalled the Fatui Harbinger code-named The Knave. The dommy mommy Fatui Harbinger was famous for taking in orphans from around the world and then indoctrinating them into the Fatui's seemingly endless army.

'Is it my fate to be surrounded by the big sister, dommy mommy figures of Teyvat?' I wondered with a rueful face before I exhaled and said frankly. "Well... Even more reason for me to head off to Liyue, she will likely expect me to stay here for a couple days under your protection rather than running off into the wilds." 

To which Nahida threw a look of amuesment as she tapped her ear while saying. "Even though the Fatui know to stay away from Sumeru's Akasha terminals, they still have their secrets captured by them as all audio and visual data someone seeing while wearing them will be captured. She is hunting you down Kurama, as you alreadly escaped her capture once before when you fled Inazuma." 

Hearing that I brushed a hand down my face and groaned as I muttered. "Why would she... Oh yeah, fucking Miko put the Gnosis in me, and then my mother probably still got the information on how to leave this world before revealing she didn't even have the damned thing!."

I felt a soft hand wrap around my shoulders and I blinked as I pulled away my hand as Nahida's star-like eyes looked at me with some concern as all the while she gave me a platonic side hug. "You can stay here if you want? Sumeru is strong and I will protect my people." She said softly and I closed my eyes hearing the care in her voice.

'Truly Nahida is the best god on this damned world...' But I gave a small smile as I likewise wrapped an arm around Nahida's waist to reciprocate the hug before I said gently. "Thank you Nahida... Even beyond my own adoptive mother, I can happily say you are the best god or goddess in Teyvat."

Nahida gave a loud twinkle of a laugh at my compliment with her angelic face curling up in a beautiful smile before she squeezed my shoulder before letting go and resting her hands in her lap demurely. "Well, then as the best goddess in this world. I do have a gift for you Kurama. As the first sage of Buer, I give you this." 

I blinked as Nahida's stomach somewhat glowed and then from her stomach falling into her hands was a necklace. For a moment I wondered what was with the necklace but then I noticed that mounted in the center of it was a green gem with a stylized green heart within it.

"A vision?" I asked in confusion and she smiled with exhaustion clear in her form.

She gently dropped the Dendro Vision into my hands and said with that smile. "Hehe... I kept a Dendro vision that fell into my hands from someone who had passed away. But with my dendro power, as it's  goddess, and your own time power enhancing my form, I was able to activate this Dendro Vision, and its already yours."

Her words were definitely correct as already I could feel the pulsing energy from the Dendro Vision that was just so like my Electro Vision. Holding the vision in my hands my face twitched as I realized I was actually the first person to have two visions at once.

Calling upon the Dendro power within the vision I waved my hand outwards and a green lance of leaves shot out before breaking apart into motes of green energy. 'Well... This will make my Electro Vision a lot more useful as well.' I thought with a smile before I stiffened and looked at Nahida.

"Wait... Nahida did this come from your womb?" I asked slowly.

There was a moment of silence before Nahida flushed and waved her hands saying quickly. "No no no! I just have my runic tattoo and part of their abilities is a spatial storage!"

I gave Nahida a dry look before I looked at the Dendro vision and put it on and with a straight face, I spoke. "Nahida, thank you for the celebration, I had some wonderful food and some good time spent with my friends, but I need to go meet with Shenhe so we can leave to Liyue."
