Celtic Shamanism was honestly a rather interesting form of study. First of all, there was three main paths of magecraft study within it. The Path of Runes, the path of druidism in making contracts with spirits and herbalism. And lastly the path of the berserker, which boiled down to the usage of drugs, psychedelic magecraft, and other things that would allow you to more physically reach into the spirit world for a variety of abilities.

Rune's were a no-brainer for their use in countless things as attaching concepts to items could be beyond useful... Except for the fact that runes that wear down or if not properly engraved, sowed or whatever onto the material you desire would only violently explode if you were lucky.

None of the paths were entirely too interesting to me... Except for the Berserker path, as I had a bit of a crazy idea. What if I used its spirit-walking abilities to push my mind out of reality and try to connect to the Land of Shadows? If I was given a book on Celtic magecraft.

Wasn't I all but obligated to try to seek out the best teacher for such lessons? And who could possibly teach me more about Celtic magecraft/magic than the Queen of the Lands of Shadows in Scathach herself?

But that was a private plan I had... For now, for this project, I made a humming noise before I targeted some herbalism magecraft and some lesser spiritual evocation magecraft that could bind shades to the material world under the user's control.

"Thankfully my Six Eye's allow me to speed read even better." I muttered before I popped my neck and left my apartment with my blindfold over my eyes as I went to one of the most 'forbidden' of area's in the whole of the Clock Tower. The Policies Department.

The Policies Department was the department that managed the Enforcers on the lower level side of things. And also regulated the manipulation of trademark/patented magic that sensors across the world could pick up you using.

As I walked into the department I walked over to a secretary typing up some kind of document on a typewriter of all things and I asked genially. "Hello, I was curious as to how I can sign up to become an enforcer."

The woman wearing very modest formal wear looked up from her typing and gave me a look before saying frankly. "You don't look the Enforcer type. But it's your funeral, here sign these documents and I will give you a pass to the bounty and investigations boards."

I took the documents from her and then after a moment of looking through them I signed them off after I lifted up my Six Eye's to make sure there wasn't any magical geass or whatever in the contract that was rather simple.

Basically, it stated that should I die in the line of duty, that meant that the Mage's Association wasn't at fault in any way.

Sure there were some clauses about my body also possibly being experimented and my Magical Circuites harvested also if I died in the line of duty... But I had no interest in dying so that was a moot point honestly.

Once I turned in the paperwork the secretary gave me a pass that would allow me to enter the next part of the Policies Department and this seal I could feel its magic from which I knew was the passcode for me to enter the department just like the coin that the Lord of the Spiritual Evocation gave me.

Going into the depths of the policies department towards the clearly marked line that would lead to the enforcers area I noticed how the mages that passed by me were a more calm and judging sort that were taking in the surroundings a lot more than the prior mages I met except for Waver.

Which made sense... As Enforcers were always on the edge of dying in a truly fucking horrible way if they ran into magi that even the Mages Association couldn't tolerate.

I ignored the various mages and enforcers in the room I entered as I found the so-called 'bounty boards' which were instead glowing spheres that would scroll around the planet and for each 'country' that the Association recognized and I wanted to go towards, I would be able to get information on targets wanted for death, their research either gathered up and brought back or simply destroyed for breaking the Associations very few rules.

'Hmm... I got a language download of various languages with my reincarnation, so beyond just English-speaking countries I can go to the other major countries of Russia, China, Japan, and any country that speaks French or Spanish... Which leaves me a lot of options.' I mused as I took in the spinning world sphere.

Finally, I mentally shrugged and put in USA as my search target. As the States' main issues were in fact Dead Apostles and rouge mages that fled there to avoid Europe's well-developed magecraft society and its persecution of batshit evil uses of magecraft.

And the contracts for USA were many... But it was also very clearly noted that discretion and keeping the secret of magecraft was paramount so I needed to keep my head down and not like throw a Hollow Purple through a crowded city street.

[Ghouls spotted in Vegas.] [The Calypso Family has reported ghouls being found in the undergrounds of New Vegas. States-side exorcists have been noted as checking the large underground but no ghouls were found but they did confirm the startling lack of homeless people that had mysteriously disappeared and has gotten the attention of the mundane media.]

Reading the mission statement I hummed as I read its requirements for completion. [Requirments- Find and destroy any ghouls and their sources. Or alternatively, find who or what made all the homeless people to disappear as the sudden disappearance of hundreds of homeless people in less than two weeks has hit the mundane media.]

And lastly was the payment. [Fifty thousand USD for confirmation of Ghouls, their destruction and the destruction of their source. Alternative payments will be made at Policies at choice should it be a rouge mage that needed to be dealt with.]

Taking that mission I raised an eyebrow as I got a coin that was marked with the mission ID so I took it to one of the secretaries running the stands to accept missions and deliver payments but as I did so... I realized that all the secretaries or workers were all homunculi that had white hair and red eyes with their eyes being very dull meaning that their 'souls' weren't made/grown well at all.

But it was obvious as to why homunculi were running the mission acceptance and payment sectors as I knew that in order to get the payment for a mission I would need to sign a soul-bound Geass that I actually accomplished said mission. And with homunculi running this part of the department that meant no politics could get involved as the homunculi obviously belong to any one clan or family.
