Kitsune in Teyvat Chapter 19 (Patreon)

Laying down on a large thick glowing mushroom hanging on the side of the Sumeru tree while in my larger lounging kitsune form I laid my head on my paws as I watched the people of Sumeru continue to go about celebrating their goddess's return.

"There you are! Why are you lying down and hiding on a giant mushroom!?" I heard Klee yell as she carefully climbed over a couple of pieces of debris to get to where I was while the Mondstadt glider she was wearing on her back snapped back into her backpack.

I smiled wryly as I shifted slightly and said kindly. "I have my big fluffy ears Klee, I don't like hearing everyone shouting so much during celebrations." 

Klee hearing my words made a humming noise as she carefully sat down beside me and I took in her young elfin features as the glow of celebrations lit up her eyes. "Hmm so if the celebration was more uhhh quieter. Would you take part in it more?" She asked making me tilted my head to the side slightly in thought.

I shrugged and gave a quite literally fox-like smile as my hackles rose slightly as I said easily. "Yeah, I probably would Klee... So although this trip her to Sumeru was very fast. Did you have fun?" 

Her hands were thrown up as she laughed happily and she burst into talking excitedly. "Yes! There is so many nice things here in Sumeru and they have some really nice toys and their snacks are soooo different from the celebration snacks from Mondstadt."

Before I could respond to that Klee patted my head between my ears making me blink as she said more quietly. "Uhm Kusanali is also very thankful for your help even if she has been busy speaking with her people and those people from the Akademiya... Anyway! Summer is coming and I wanted to know if you if you would be willing to come with me and my friends to a nice vacation spot?"

'Oh the Golden Apple Archipelago.' I thought as I remembered the series of islands to the southeast of Mondstadt that was the result of Venti cutting the mountains of Mondstadt into plains and then yeeting the mountains into the ocean. Which included all the animals on the mountains into the ocean which over the last thousands of years had become its own ecosystem of an island chain.

Yeah, Mondstadt used to be a super mountainous place but then Venti when he became the Anemo Archon decided to cut the mountains in half and then yeet them into the ocean which is why there were so many oddly flat plateaus in Mondstadt.

After a moment of thought I booped Klee in the head with a tail making her let out a shriek of surprise before I chuckled and said. "Ok, Klee that can be fun. Plus I kinda need to stay away from the Fatui for a while." 

At that Klee gave me a long look before made a humming noise and asked frankly. "Why don't you join the Knights of Favonius then? We are super strong and the Fatui can't mess around in Mondstadt with Mister Diluc and Master Jean kicking their butts all the time!"

"Hahaha, Klee that can't happen. Remember, I am the prince of Inazuma remember, I am the Raiden Shogun's son." I said making her pout with her petulantly kicking her feet up and down on our mushroom.

"I wanted your help to harvest a Pryo Regisvine... Miss Lisa and Master Jean are all like 'No Klee you can't use a Regisvine's stamen to make bombs! That will make an earthquake and disrupt all of Mondstadt!' But I am a good girl and I know to use the bomb to blow up that evil Fatui camp in the Dragonspine Mountains!" She ranted with my face twitching at her words.

'I just said I wanted to avoid the Fatui...' I thought weakly but still I gave Klee a series of soft consoling headpats with my tail before Klee bounced back and said excitedly. "Still so are you ready to head over to Mondstadt with us and go on a vacation?" She asked excitedly.

Making a noise of thought I shook my head slightly before I had a thought strike me. "Well its going to take you, Lisa and Fischl a good week or two to get back to Mondstadt the normal way right?" I asked Klee who blinked at my question before pouting slightly.

"Yeah... Miss Lisa already told Fischl and me that the ship from the Port will probably take a week with favorable winds from Barbatos to get to Mondstadt." She explained.

Nodding I stood up slightly and stretched out my tails and shook off any dust in my luscious coat as I said. "Well, I did promise to go meet the Traveler and Shenhe's master back in Liyue but we will be traveling far faster than your ship so I will try to have Lumine in Mondstadt by the time you guys get back to Liyue."

And at that Klee cheered as she smiled and said happily. "Oooh! You will bring the Honorary Knight to Mondstadt yay!"

I couldn't help a matching smile for her enthusiasm but with the night dragging on and people going to rest I said to Klee. "Alright with things calming down, you go find Lisa and Fischl so you don't stay up too late Klee. I am going to go find Nahida."
