The four boys walking on the train track is the oldest reference in the Pokémon game franchise. The very first games, Red/Blue starts with the character going downstairs, and it is optional to check the TV, where the mother is watching a movie about four boys walking on train tracks, which is just the 1986 film "Stand By Me." This anniversary style video is so great. The boy with Pikachu and girl with Eevee are original to this; the story seems to be that their respective beloved partners got lost and switched, leading to them meeting. Everyone else is straight from all the main series games up to then, replaying many famous battles. I love how pretty much every one gets a cameo.
