I hear this anime is good but none of those openings make me want to watch it... the songs are ok on maybe 2 but nothing crazy special and the openings dont show you what kinda things to expect.. it doesn't have to give spoilers but i cant tell what kind of anime it is or if its school based or if they are some sort of police or if they have powers... the characters for the most part run around doing nothing.... Ive also never seen Darius only get excited for 1 of the openings before

It's Academy City based (mostly), which is an autonomous city-state in Japan (well arguably since AC is wayyy more scientifically advanced than any country in the world (like maybe 20-30 years ahead of them, but some of the secret black ops shit tech are in reality like 70-90 years in advance, rather than the surface-level shit that's merely 20-30), is that Japan is under the thumb of AC per se, influence wise for the Director of Board (essentially our equivalent of President, but w/ more absolute power than a prez would have))

The anime is pretty great. The anime is far more enjoyable than the openings. It is not that new. There is the main series, the series based on the railgun girl, and another series based on the white haired guy.

The Railgun might be my most favorite character in anime. Definitely worth a watch

This series is that one series that made me read a lot of light novels (Index series has a total of 46 volumes and counting) and it really is a good series. As for the anime adaptation, Index and Railgun are the opposites of each other imo. Index is a good story but with mediocre anime adaptation (at least on its 3rd season only) while Railgun is a pretty alright manga series with good adaptation. Definitely a good series and I think you should watch it if you wanted to. The only problems I've had with the 3rd season of Index is they rushed the whole 13 volumes into 26 episodes (mostly Kadokawa's fault since it was rumored that season 3 was supposed to be at least 30+ episodes) which lost all the build-up into the main arcs of the story just to catch up with New Testament novels. Regardless of that, even if you haven't read the source material to compare it with, I think it is still pretty decent with good world-building and good character developments.
