I have no idea why these big rocks in the Eastern Sierras are named after buttermilk, but they certainly made for some pretty awesome alliteration.

We had to be there at about 5:30 am for sunrise lighting and privacy, so you might be able to tell that I'm basically asleep in these images. Nonetheless we got a few lovely ones. I'm pretty sure morning people like Dan are a different species, and I'm glad he dragged me out of bed.

amazing. love the statuesque ones of you standing in front of that background with the sunrise on the rocks. for that background, there ain't nobody better.
