Weekly Check-In (4/30/23) (Patreon)

Another week in the books, and I'm extremely happy with how everything's going.  I'm feeling much better, so I got a lot more done this week than I did last, which is a relief.  I don't really have deadlines, per se, but I do try to keep a tight schedule.  Not being able to stay on track last week definitely made my skin crawl, so it's very good for my mental state that I could get back to normal.  Otherwise, I'd have probably gone a little crazy.  

In Death: Genesis news, I got the final copy edited version of book four back from my publisher, and I'm going to be doing my pass sometime this week.  And I have to say, finally putting a book to bed and moving on definitely feels satisfying.  In terms of the stuff I wrote this past week...well, let's just say I had a blast with it and leave it at that.  I'm almost positive that people are going to enjoy it.

With Mistrunner, I'm definitely coming in on the home stretch.  I expect to finish book two sometime in the next 2-3 weeks (depending on how hard I want to go with some of the climactic action scenes).  I definitely want to get it right, so I'll definitely be paying extra careful attention to what I put on the page.  And I'll probably have to do a rewrite or two just to make sure it hits the way I want.  

For the as-yet-untitled third project, I'm making great strides with the world building.  I'm putting a ton of thought into how the world is going to be structured (and how I reveal it through the story), so I hope it shows when I get to writing.  Which is probably going to be sooner rather than later.  If everything goes according to my plan, I'll be putting words on the page sometime in May.  It'll still be a bit before I release anything, but I'll keep everyone updated as I go.
