I know everyone's been waiting with bated breath for the weekly check-in, so I'll just jump right into it.  First, I think I'm just going to officially move this thing to Sundays.  That's when I do my editing and scheduling for the coming week, so it kind of makes sense.  And this has nothing to do with the fact that I'll probably forget it otherwise.  None at all.  So stop looking at me like that.

In Death: Genesis news, the second book's release went way better than I expected, and it's been pretty consistently sitting in the Audible top 1500 for almost two weeks (even reaching as high as the top 125, with multiple categories where it was #1).  The Kindle version wasn't quite as eye-poppingly succussful, but it's also sitting in the top 2000 (and it also got to #1 in a couple of categories).  So, I can't complain about how that's going!  Hopefully, we can keep it up.  If you haven't checked it out yet, I definitely recommend the audiobook (you can find it HERE) because the narrator, Eric Michael Summerer, does a phenomenal job.

As to what I'm working on right now, it's a really cool arc where we get a bit of history for Min Ferilik and its dwarves (with a heavy dose of battle and advancement!), so I've been having fun with that.  I think you'll all enjoy it.

Concerning Mistrunner, I'm about 2/3 of the way through the second book, and I'm really, really pleased with how it's turning out.  Sure, it's pretty dark (kind of necessary for the genre), but I'm pretty damn proud of how well it's written. Oh, and I got the final-ish cover for book one's release:

But I'm a bit disappointed to say that I'm pushing Path of Dragons to the backburner for now.  I think I need to step back from the story and give it a few weeks before diving back in (probably) with fresh eyes.  I love the premise, but I'm not sure if my execution is really up to telling the story right now.  Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised when I revisit it in a couple of weeks, but for now, I'm prepared to drop it.  I won't know for sure for a couple of weeks, though.

At the end of the day, I don't want to release anything that doesn't reach my standards, so if it's not good enough, I'll probably just toss it aside with the expectation of re-writing it some time in the future.

Anyway, if you have any questions or whatever, just let me know!
