Whew.  This week was a busy and exciting week for me.  As most of you know (I've spammed it enough, I think), this past Tuesday was release day for Death: Genesis 2.  And I have to admit, I expected it to do well.  I've been seeing the presale numbers, so I was prepared for a good launch.  However, I was NOT prepared to see it flirt with the Audible or Kindle top 100.  I also wasn't prepared for it to hit #1 in multiple categories (including some big ones, like fantasy adventure) and spend a few days as a #1 new release (still there for Kindle, by the way!).  I am absolutely floored by how well the book did, and I'm looking forward to seeing if we can improve upon this launch with the next book (in June).

Anyway, if you haven't had a chance to get the book on Kindle or Audible, you still have a chance to be one of the cool kids by getting your own digital copy HERE.

In other Death: Genesis news, I'm steadily plugging along on the fifth book.  I'm definitely in that middle-of-the-book, keep-your-nose-to-the-grindstone mindset, but I did just write a really fun arc (the first of its kind!) from Pudge's perspective.  And I'm really happy with it.  Otherwise, the story's marching on!

Regarding Mistrunner, I feel like I've hit a real groove with the book's tone.  The first one kind of skated over some of the systemic issues with the kind of world I built, but the second's diving right in.  The idea is that the first book was seen through the eyes of a child (or young adult), but with the second, Mira's eyes are wide open to all the world's problems.  So, while it can get a bit dark, it's also kind of necessary for the genre.  I hope you'll all agree.

Finally, regarding Path of Dragons - I'm about 25 chapters into it now, and I think I'm hitting my stride with the story.  A lot of these chapters are going to need heavy editing (more is always required when I'm still finding my way early on in a story), but I like the bones of the narrative.  And I'm on the verge of getting into some of the protagonist's defining powers, so that's always fun.

Anyway, thanks for making the book launch so successful.  If you have any questions or issues, please let me know in the comments.  Also, don't hesitate to discuss things in DISCORD.
