Observing the art of others can offer help in tackling different challenges and helps see things in a different perspective. 

Siegfried's anime hair is one of my least liked hairstyles of a favourite character, but I didn't want to deviate from his original design. 

However, seeing him depicted with realistic locks made a world of difference when it came to drawing him. In the end I felt I could make this compromise without drastically changing his design.
