After banishing Gilgamesh to the underworld, Ishtar would frequently visit him in his chamber where he was bound to stay until another was so bold to take his place. Even someone mighty as he could not break free of the underworld tar that held him secure no matter his struggles. Knowing this, Ishtar could not resist taking advantage of his desperation, finally receiving the worship she desired of him in the mortal world.
