Kontent Update 3/26/23 (Patreon)

this is a general content update on what I’m working on, what’s to come in april, and what I’m thinking of doing so if you’re curious READ ALONG~ 

(Also friendly reminder that my updates are now sporadic so they dont have a set schedule anymore).

-Content In The Coming Month-

So obviously as I’ve mentioned in the last two videos I’ve made, in the next BL Vlog I’ll be covering Blood Bank so expect that video some time in April. I would like to get more than one of these things out a month but I’m honestly still catching up on life things - the most immediate of those things being my TAXES - so until I have my shit together idk if there’ll be more than one PUBLIC video a month on YouTube. Content here on YouTube will remain consistent as it has been since Scoutmaster Season was prerecorded to completion and fully scheduled plus the usual content y’all get will exist as well - and maybe even a few more things (more on that later).

-BL Vlogs-

In relation to the BL Vlogs, I’ve decided this is going to be what form my content is going to take for the time being. As y’all know I love doing scripted content and it’s the content where I feel the most fulfilled creatively but two major reasons are preventing me from making that kind of content currently so the BL Vlogs will be the sole video format for the next several months at least.

First reason is just a content creation common sense rule I’ve never been able to really follow thru on lmao - do what works and do it over and over again. Essentially most content creators have found success just finding a singular video type and format and have done said format to death in order to build audiences because it becomes like watching a TV Show - you’re coming back to something you enjoy and expect. It’s audience building 101 and it’s something I’ve done selectively in the past but never truly followed thru on it cause I always get the creative bug, hate stagnation and just wanna do and try different shit but at this stage of my YouTube career I’m not so ENTHUSIASTIC to jeopardize an opportunity for growth lmfao so I’m going to be business minded this time around. Also longer form content seems to be thriving on YouTube at the moment for some and since I have -0 desire to make hour long video essays this is truly the ONLY way I could make content that is that long lmao.

The second reason is simply this is all I have the capacity for right now. Scripted content takes a lot more work from the scripting process to the recording process to image selection and then editing all that together and I don’t have the drive to really commit to doing that right now. To be very honest that’s what kind of content I primarily did the past few years and to do all that work and then see minimal returns on a video is probably another factor that led to me having burnout so this year I want to (at least for the time being) put my energy into low effort content that does well aka these Vlogs LMAO particularly cause i lost a sizable amount of revenue in the time I took off. Obviously the videos are still edited and have entertainment value but winging it is just working for me right now so im gunna stick with it even tho the editing for these vlogs can be tedious in their own right. 

-The Status Of Kweer Coding-

I will say that my overall YouTube goal at this stage is to put out BL Vlogs (or blogs of other series) fairly frequently as the main content I offer and then every once in a while throw out an “experiment” to both see how other kinds of content may do and also just to scratch my creative itch when I have it. This way I have the safety net of BL Vlogs to fall back on should an “experiment” fail and I don’t spiral into despair that my channel is bombing. For the time being my creativity will be funneled into my thumbnails because I love a good self insert thumbnail and I think y’all can tell ROFLLLLLL. There IS scripted content I definitely do want to do but most of it is on hold or will come later in the year for reasons mentioned above. It’s kinda funny how I think in early November I was like “Kweer Coding is what im going to do definitively from now on” and then that just didn’t happen LMAO but KC WILL be returning eventually, I do really want that series to succeed it’s a perfect outlet for me creatively and I really want to do it for Blue Lock but again it will be on “hiatus” for now. (As for Sengoku Basara’s last 2 parts… idk if I’ll ever do them, I maybe would like to at some point but again im not in the headspace rn to even think about that).

-Patron BL Suggestions-

Lastly for BL Vlogs I figured I’d ask y’all for suggestions for series to be vlogged, it could be BL or not, it could be Manhwa, manga, anime, whatever - this series is reliant on doing popular things for clickbait clout but at the same time obviously being honest in my reaction as someone who rebukes popularity LMAO so I’ll take any suggestions y’all have - HONESTLY (just thought of this LMAO) feel free to recommend series I may have already read/watched and done videos on who’s videos no longer exist, I am NOT opposed to revisiting series for this since I think it could make the discussion more interesting as someone who’s already read them.

Currently my shortlist of intended series includes: Semantic Error and Legs That Won’t Walk. As many know I haven’t been really consuming BL like that for a while due to reasons I’ve elaborated on before (too much too soon too connected to work - I needed a break from BL for a bit) so please get me hip and I’ll select from there lmao (porno series preferred but I’ll take sexless shit too... I GUESS lmaolmao). I would also like to do Jinx and revisit Painter of the Night at some point but I’d really rather do series that are either completed or currently on hiatus (like in between seasons) so that my thoughts can be cumulative - also preferably something with some LENGTH, like 5 chapter series are cute or whatever but I’m tryna fill the time in the video, but i mean hey maybe there’s a 5 chapter series that’ll cause me to just monologue for several hours WHO KNOWS.

As I hinted at above i also intend to at least TRY vlogging non-BL things as well and my shortlist for that includes Diabolik Lovers, Wolf Girl & Black Prince and Evangelion LMAO. Again full transparency half of the reason I’m selecting anything is due to popularity or notoriety but my energy right now is also very much on checking out controversial series and probably being underwhelmed / becoming a late fan LMAO. 

-Patreon Content In April-

For April y’all will be getting up to THREE podcasts depending on my mood lmfao two are confirmed and one is a TBD.

The Natz Cast for April (Available for OTR w/Gene Tier Patrons and above) will be a Shaman King MEGA review covering the manga, both anime and the assorted spin off manga. As y’all know I’m a huge shaman king fan and I’ve been revisiting everything since the newest anime adaptation ended so this will likely cover a LOT.

3 Episode Ruling podcast returns in April as well, it will go up during the last week of April since the latest air date for an anime im planning to watch is around the 12th. For anyone new, the 3ER Podcast is simply a first thoughts review podcast of select anime I happen to be watching every new anime season.

Lastly - and this pertains to seasonal anime too - I’m THINKING of doing a KrisPOddCast on Problematic Faves, covering what the term means, highlighting discourse around it and my feelings on the concept and most importantly (at least for controversy and clickbait) - my thoughts on Rurouni Kenshin as someone who was a fan of it growing up and has obviously been struggling with my relation to it after the mangaka was arrested for things I’ll let you google on your own cause they might be a lot to read out of the blue lmao but let’s say it’s a sex crime of sorts. As I said in my KPod ranking Weekly Shonen Jump series I’ve struggled since the mangakas arrest with how I feel about the series and at some point I did come to my own personal conclusions on how I feel about it so I’d be sharing those. Rurouni Kenshin has a new anime coming this spring so it’s key timing for me to cover the topic LMAO. The answer I’ve come to may surprise you~

Lastly, as ive mentioned before (i think?) i was intending to shoot episode reactions to jjk season one this summer - im thinking of changing them from being episode reactions to vlogs like what im doing now. This way i wont have to worry about copyright and i wont feel like im conforming to a video style im just not inclined to start doing. Idk if itd be episode by episode but ill figure that out closer to july. 

So that’s where I’m at right now, more me tryna figure my fuckin life out along with this YouTube shit. One more video idea y’all may see pop up at some point this year is my idea to make a “What I’m Shipping [Season] 2023” video which would be a spin on the typical seasonal anime recommendations video where I just talk about characters I ship from the seasonal anime I’m watching. I highkey wanted to make this video for Winter 2023 cause I shipped SO MUCH cause I was watching SO MUCH but I’m just not up for that kind of content at the moment and spring I’m not watching that much that I have shipping expectations from so hopefully summer and/or fall will let me get this concept out.

That’s everything for now, it’s beginning to be allergy season where I’m at so I’m starting to DIE on the daily and I’m getting my Zyrtec in supply so I hope everyone else is having a scratchy eye-less runny nose-less beginning to spring (if it’s spring where you’re at lmao).
