An Update About Updates (Patreon)

Hey guys its been a WHILE or maybe not but it FEELS like its been a WHILE.

As you can see this post is a poll but it will also serve as one of my usual content updates as well so read thru ALL of this if you are curious about whats coming, whats changing and what in thee fuck is going on - or if you dont care, go on your way lmao no hard feelings especially cause this one is long and a little more in depth than usual.

So its no secret that ive been gone for a while from making consistent content like i usually do for over 2 months and the main reason for that is ive been fighting off burnout, trying to sort out some things in my personal life and above it all: trying to organize all my work and related resources that ive been putting off for an extended amount of time. In 2023 im going to be making a lot of changes to my workflow that hopefully allows me to make what i want to make without it causing me to suffer the amount of burnout ive experienced over the past 2 years. Ultimately because i need some organizational CLARITY - I dont think Fujoshi February 2023 is going to have more than a single video. I had a rough list of videos i planned to do but instead of getting back into the never ending cycle of disorganization that stresses me the fuck out - im going to prioritize getting my shit together so i can come back with a healthy and organized mentality so i can keep this shit sustainable. In retrospect getting the flu at the end of last year was kind of a wake up call seeing as it was kind of a breakdown of my health related to my stress levels so taking december off really was the best call for me at the time.

Ive outlined before the stress i have associated with this job stemming from my beginnings of taking this youtube shit seriously in 2018 where i was working from when i woke up until i went to bed for about 2 years until i finally gave myself ONE day of the week off which i barely did even at that point and it wasnt until last year that i actually gave myself a proper weekend. Basically old habits die hard and my mentality with my work is to "work until its done" as opposed to a healthy "you work in this time frame, when the time is up youre done, log out, stop thinking about work" to the point where even on my days off im worried about what i still have left to do with a video in 2 days. That never ending grind mentality has haunted me even tho i dont output that much content nor do i have or need that kind of schedule anymore so one of my goals this year is to truly change my viewpoint and habits with work so i ultimately have better mental health associated with it and can frankly get EXCITED about making content again. 

So for FujoFeb unfortunately it wont be more than a single video - publicly - privately however, my playthru of Scoutmaster Season begins THIS COMING SUNDAY AT 12PM EST~~~~ and will continue every other week until completion #ScoutmasterSeasonSunday. One thing i HAVE been able to do these past months is play the game to completion for yall (once for each route) so at least look forward to that in a few days and over the course of the month. As for the one public video, im going to be reading and giving my reaction to Killing Stalking as ive mentioned before BUT the kind of video is still up in the air since i want to concretely decide once ive read it to completion and have strong ideas about what kind of video id want to make. As for now i plan to at the very least vlog my reactions every few chapters (Ouuuu hes a booktuber now) which may or may not be part of the video by the time i finish reading - potentially it will just end up as another patrons only bonus video if i exclude the vlogs. Of course knowing me i dont exactly shy away from a controversial thumbnail and title especially if it can get people to click even tho the video isnt what they expect LMAO so as of right now im thinking of titling the video *clears throat* The REDEMPTION Of Killing Stalking. Could be subject to change tho - yall know me.

And speaking of knowing me, now i wanna talk to yall about changes coming to "Monthly Updates' and how this now applies to the poll below. So im going to be getting rid of Monthly Updates going forward in favor of a more frequent or infrequent option that yall will vote on below. In the past probably 6 months (maybe this has been the case longer than that) ive made promises for videos and announced video concepts that just have NOT manifested and im sure plenty of you dont care too deeply about videos i promise not happening, but i feel like a flake for doing so so ive decided to change my approach to updates so that its clear im not making and breaking video idea promises and its understood what videos are FOR SURE coming out verses what id "like to do". Ive come to the conclusion that making a set public schedule of videos coming out every month frankly stresses me out and hinders my creativity cause i then feel committed to make videos that may have sounded good in theory but are significantly less desirable in execution and i dont wanna put myself in that position anymore. I wanna do what i wanna do when i want and at the same time not make false promises or get yall excited for shit that just never happens.

Going forward updates will be divided into "what im working on" vs "what im thinking of doing" so yall know CONCRETELY what is coming your way in terms of me saying shit like "right now im editing a video about blue lock where im breaking down the mangakas foot fetish subtext" and then on the other side youll know ideas im spitballing like "im thinking of doing a video about why adam is a better match for reki in time for season 2" that are less assured. Additionally things like Natz Casts, Visual Novel Playthrus and other patreon exclusive content will still be announced and scheduled cause that shit is easy to manage for me and i have no issue dating them specifically. 

Now as for these new updates - below vote for which time-frequency you would prefer: Weekly would be every week so yall are getting frequent, real time updates - however they could be uneventful and a lot shorters - whereas "whenever" would mean when im working on some shit ill let yall know, they would come out probably between once a month to maybe 3 times a month max and depend wholly on my mood and what im working on. And if you dont care thats cool too

I am still working out if im going to keep the KrisPOddCast as a thing or not. If i keep it i might make it an irregular podcast that i make when i feel inspired to talk about some shit, otherwise i might just keep the Year In Review podcast to be once a year.

The Natz Cast for february is unfortunately NOT fujoshi themed but will be for the classic, wildly successful 80s baseball anime Touch. Initially i had planned to make the Natz Cast for Touch and its sequel Mix Meisei Story just a single podcast but i talked way too long for both series so ive split the podcast in two with Mix's Natz Cast coming out in March as preparation for WHAT WILL BE MY LATEST ANIME  PROPAGANDA MOVEMENT OF 2023 - MIX MEISEI STORY SEASON 2 IN APRIL.

Additionally for OTR w/Gene tier patrons and above, Natz Casts will go on hiatus later this year when i start the second playthru of Scoutmaster Season, that playthru will be the replacement at the time.

Lastly i would just like to say that my response to comments on patreon are always going to be late, i feel the need to mention this cause i feel bad when i respond to comments made weeks beforehand but i try to respond to everyone best i can or at least heart your comment so you know ive seen it even if i have nothing to say in response. Theres potential for me to just fall behind and stop responding at times so i apologize ahead of time if this occurs.
