Camp Buddy Deletion (Patreon)

hope youre all on your new year new me shit even tho time isnt real lmaolmao. I wish my first behind the scenes announcement post of the new year was for good news but unfortunately im here to let you guys know that after years of takedowns and reuploads ive decided to delete the uncensored versions of the camp buddy (hiro route) and camp keep it in the family (natsumi route) playthrus in full due to the sheer number of video removals pornhub has given me for each series time and again.

Pornhub has never told me directly why theyve deleted most of the videos for any of the playthrus ive done. As yall know, dramatical murder had to be uploaded on erome because every single video of it i tried to upload on pornhub was immediately taken down. All i was told was the videos "violated the terms of service" which could be one of 50000 different things and the same has happened time and again practically every other month for random camp buddy videos ever since ive uploaded both the hiro and natsumi routes.

For anyone unaware, pornhub purged millions of videos from its website in 2020 due to boycotts from credit card companies over accusations of revenge porn and child pornography and theyve been hypersensitive about content on their platform ever since to the point of defaulting to deleting videos even by mistake just to be safe. While this has been beneficial for victims of the aforementioned sex crimes and an overall welcome enforcement on a site that beforehand would allow people to upload videos anonymously without an account - it has actively been a pain in the ass for creators on the site who upload content well within the terms of service but may have their videos taken down directly after uploading or months later at random because of what can only be described as “pornhub feeling like a video might be against the terms of service so might as well delete anyway”. 

Where does camp buddy fit into all this? Well if youve seen how naysayers to the game and other media like it have reacted, a large amount of people consider the characters in camp buddy to “look underaged”. While we could argue an nauseum about fictional character age debates and people’s view of body types in correlation to age and the delusion that short skinny men over the age of 30 dont exist - the fact of the matter is that camp buddy’s characters are often characterized and viewed as being underaged. So when the first videos from the hiro route got flagged, i just accepted the fact that the drawings’ perceived age was the issue and simply reuploaded every time a video got taken down, replacing the video link in every post on patreon like nothing happened. Ive pretty much reuploaded every episode at least once over the course of the time its been up.

Fast forward to doing the natsumi route, i foolishly assumed that this playthru would have no issues seeing as natsumi looks about 5’10” and to some people on the internet, anyone who "LOOKS" over 5’9” is at less risk of being accused of looking like jailbait (how many times have you seen a dumbass say “iChIgO LoOkS LiKe hEs ThIrTy” *proceeds to rip out what little hair i have left*). However, absolutely nothing changed (curse you keitaro) and i continued to get videos taken down, so when i reached out to pornhub support to ask WHY the video had been taken down - i was told the following:

And again, in the months since, Ive found myself on any random day getting an email from pornhub and/or a message from one of yall telling me camp keep it in the family episode 2 part 4 the final final final season brotherhood (2019) has been taken down, so i have to then dedicate time to upload these files as big as the dicks featured in the suggested column to the right of any given video on The Hub which takes hours to complete and often with uploads failing due to internet connection issues (yall know my internet setup from any live ive done X.X) and then once it miraculously gets to the processing stage it often gets flagged for violating TOS and so i have to restart the process until it succeeds which as you can imagine is quite TEDIOUS and FRUSTRATING.

Now to be clear: yall messaging me to tell me a video is down or not working is never an issue, i wanna know my shit works and anyone having issues helps me figure out issues to help people with similar issues down the line. The REAL issue is just that quite frankly camp buddy is (somehow) too controversial of a game to exist on porhub in its completed form for any extended amount of time and the frustrating work to keep it up in its entirety is far too exhausting and annoying a process for me to want to continue to maintain. In comparison - full service has never not once given me a problem on pornhub, i honestly think at least 20% of my love for that game at this point is because its never had a playthru video taken down LMFAO.

I had also taken down the public compilations a while ago seeing as they actively promoted the affiliate link for the game that no longer works and if i hadnt done so then i would be doing so now because i wouldnt want to be in a position where i have to explain myself over and over again to new patrons coming to me from those videos why a game i promoted to them is no longer available. (I will say as im writing this maybe down the line i could make a mega compilation of the funniest parts strictly for patreon cause the game was a good time and i will forever crack up at me singing Daddy Reach when Goro first shows up but tbd). 

I know people are going to suggest Erome or that i simply upload the files to a file sharing service but erome quite frankly was only for dramatical murder and i hope to never use that site again because it is rickety, video quality is chips and im 1000% sure a third of the content on the site is revenge porn so id rather NOT #OutOfSightOutOfMind. As for a dropbox/google drive/etc - the files are simply too big to fit there without me paying for one of the premium accounts and then i would have to continually pay for that account for a game that not many people are still looking to watch regularly so it would not be an investment i would want to make (also gdrive would likely flag the content and take it down and im not losing my google accounts).

Im sad to see the game go, it was my first playthru, it was a good time if a bit wordy lmao but between the fact its way past its popularity, most people have already watched the playthrus who wanted to, that pornhub gets stricter every day with their regulations so i dont wanna risk account deletion (for full service and future playthru's sake - dont worry my private account is separate) and the fact i have enough people calling me a pedo in my comment sections over Sebek Zigvolt (who knew my boo had FANS) - i think its for the best i leave these playthrus in the past.

And i also apologize to anyone who loved the playthru and had planned to revisit it in the future.

I will of COURSE be doing more visual novels going forward but id be lying if i said i wasnt taking character appearance into account so i can avoid a logistical nightmare. Thankfully the next game Scoutmaster Season does not have that problem and you guys can look forward to the start of that playthru starting in February~~~
