For this special episode about Selma Bouvier, we have a big-time returning guest, the creator of Steven Universe, Rebecca Sugar! (Check out her new album, Spiral Bound, now!) After discussing her history with the show, we dig into this story of parenthood, theme parks, funerals, and lizards that all have something to do with the fourth season of Murphy Brown. Learn about all of that and whether grocery employees wear belts in this week's podcast!

The Bill Plympton short Rebecca mentions (regarding eating a gross piece of toast that fell on the floor) is "One of Those Days," which MTV used to air occasionally. You can watch it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtJTIIr5Teg

It always bugged me that they use the same character model three times in this episode. The waitress at the diner, again during the Moleman date and a third time behind the desk at the sperm bank. Has anyone else noticed this?

I second Bob's experience of having something stuck in your head while you're sick. I'll often have a random part of a random song looping in my head while I'm feverish. It's maddening. If you ever do have a sign stuck in your head, I've found you can fix it by 1. Listening to the whole thing especially the ending 2. Listening to something else 3. Play an equal or more powerful earworm song to replace it (Barbie girl, I'm blue, Mambo no5, etc.)

I agree with Hank. The pimply teen absolutely should want to hook up with Selma. Kind of ridiculous of the (maybe) 18 year old not to be physically interested in this desperate middle-aged woman
