I preface my comment with the Thanksgiving holiday has thrown off my listening schedule so I haven't listened to the episode yet but did just rewatch it today. I wanted to make this comment in time for possible Talk to the Audience inclusion. I don't know if the writers were specifically making a nautical time joke but when Capt McCallister comes up to Homer and Marge to kick them out, he said "6 bells, time for closing." That makes it either 11pm or 3am. During the court scene, Marge states that they drove around until 3am looking for another restaurant and eventually went fishing. Spending 4hrs driving seems a bit much for the size of regular Springfield. I wonder where they went during that time. Thanks for the continued great shows!
