Matt Frewer also has another DC role, in live-action: He played former supervillain Edgar Jacobi, aka. "Moloch" in the 2009 film adaptation of Watchmen. It's a small role, but he did a great job capturing Jacobi's really sad state of a former theatrical criminal now reduced to a cancer-stricken man in a small apartment.

Great episode on a great episode! I wanted to add a note on "gunsel": Bob is right that it's used in The Maltese Falcon, but it's Dashiell Hammett getting one over on his editor. If you've seen the movie, you know that Kasper Gutman, the bad guy played by Sydney Greenstreet, is clearly gay-coded. When Hammett was submitting the story for serialization in Black Mask magazine in 1929 (it would be released again as a novel the following year), his editor objected to using the word “catamite” (a young boy kept for sexual purposes by an older man) to refer to the young male gunman working for Gutman. So Hammett suggested using "gunsel", which the editor accepted thinking it was a slang term for a hired gun. Actually, it's a slang term for a young gay man from the Yiddish word "gendzel", meaning "little goose", that Hammett had picked up during his days as a private detective. When it appeared in The Maltese Falcon movie, other writers took up this seemingly cool gangster slang, and it entered the hardboiled lexicon. Scream 6 is pretty good...Neve wasn't needed story wise. I have a feeling they purposely lowballed her because they already had the story set. Neve/Gale and even Dewy were a stretch in Scream 5. Gale makes sense in 6. Neve wouldn't, unless it's forced. Scream 7 is already greenlit, so if they do include her it'll be really forced. There's no reason to include any of the original cast, at least how everything's been played out so far.

Seconding all of this. This is like how Bugs Bunny changed the meaning of "nimrod" because people didn't catch the original meaning and effectively that eclipsed the original intent of the usage. Language is fun!

Also, Sid the Squid kinda reminds me of the panicky security guard from the beginning of Batman Forever (the "Oh, no! It's boiling acid!" guy). Now that I think about it, they were both sealed in containers and nearly doused in acid, so they have a lot in common. 😁
