Happy new year! As we podcasters wrap up our holiday break, we're taking a week off from Simpsons to give you listeners a special treat: FIVE HOURS of Disney Renaissance chat! In case you didn't know, each month we do a premium podcast, What A Cartoon Movie, for our $10 Patreon subscribers, and now we're giving everyone a taste of the massive animation podcast fun we have each month. So to provide a sample of our 2022 slate of releases, we go scene-by-scene and song-by-song through the classic that inspired See My Vest (among many other things). Enjoy our in-depth history and dissection of this beastly beauty of a film, and be sure to subscribe if you want to hear more!

Ahhhhh the needlessly useless intro advert that I still listen to even though I'm already a Patron! Thanks again my dudes for this excellent treat for our freethren. 😁

Beast saying "You can't stay in there forever!" to Belle has some real Homer Simpson saying the same thing to Bart through the door in "Bart the Genius" vibes.

Thanks guys! I have to say, most of the times you said “dog footstool” then near the end someone says “dog stool” and I can’t help but wonder if Disney sneaked a dog poo joke past us.

Thank you for posting this to the free feed! One bit of Beauty and the Beast that was referenced elsewhere was in South Park, Bigger, Longer and Uncut, with the opening number a great sound like for the opening song here. Also, just a month or so ago, my kid had a supporting role in his high school's production of Beauty and The Beast as Cogsworth. He killed with his Mr Howell/Judge Whitey inspired voice. One significant change--suggested by the student cast it turns out-was to have Belle be the one to stab and kill Gaston. I'm not exaggerating to say that the audience gasped loudly and then broke out in applause. Two quick edits-- 1) yes, The Boy indeed had See My Vest running in his head every time they rehersed Be Our Guest.. 2) When I first saw him in costume, I cried our "My Boy is a clock! Damn you! A CLOCK!!!!"
