The Smithers/Strippers meme usage I always see if when some conservative like a Ben Shapiro type makes sexist complaints about women these days wearing too revealing clothing. People then reply with that gif.

Going into this episode I had no idea that the infamous "Smithers confronted by twerking women" bit was from this, so that was a GREAT surprise. Hell, overall I thoroughly enjoyed returning to this episode, no doubt in large part to it being a Swartzwelder script (even if it's not in his top 5 necessary). I was also surprised to see in the end credits that it was *another* Mike Scully produced episode, but in retrospect I think that makes sense for my enjoyment, since there's not many episodes from the era of Al Jean's return that were particularly memorable or enjoyable to me, but from the title of this one I remembered the general plot & twist of Gloria being Snake's ex and going back to him in the end. I was going to say that if this was the true last Scully episode, it's a good one to go out on, but then I saw he wrote an early season 14 episode I have no memory of, so scratch that (for now anyway).

$14 for a gut busting amount of Chinese food? Highly unrealistic, Simpsons.

Bob Mackey

Like gasoline, the price of Chinese food multiplied by six in the last 20 years

Alex Forsyth

Maybe Three Stooges Syndrome makes him both indestructible and a demon in the sack.

Grant Baxter

I am curious to know who Bob and Henry's Smash mains are.

The "...expell some urine" line is a gem that my highschool friend Rodney wouls always quote and stuck with me. That and the make a frown your umbrella are quotes I use never remembering the episode they're connected to.

Fortune cookies hit a new low for me recently when I got one that was sponsored by, AND themed after, a cryptocurrency exchange. Felt like a throwaway bit in a Neal Stephenson novel or something.

we should have had a 'motherfuckin NRBQ' jingle

Andrew O.

This whole episode the quote that frequently came to mind was: "Ow! My freaking ears!"

I went to a Chinese place yesterday that shockingly offered a lunch special for five bucks but it was not a gut busting amount of food.

I get this episode confused with the Helen Hunt episode in my head.

Since this is a Swartzwelder episode, I think it's possible the passing reference to "I never knew a man who knew Coolidge" could be a very obscure reference to the Sinclair Lewis book The Man Who Knew Coolidge (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_Who_Knew_Coolidge).
