Love is in the air on the What A Cartoon schedule this week, as the stars have aligned, bringing us a selection of episodes featuring plenty of what Valentine's Day does best. And if you're sick of sappiness, we're closing out February with our long-awaited look at the South Park movie! Whatever your mood or relationship status, these 28 days truly hold something for everyone.

And remember, if you'd like to listen to this month's episodes of TalKing of the Hill and Talking Futurama, you'll need to sign up at the $5 level or higher on the Talking Simpsons Patreon. Once you subscribe, you'll get to hear our miniseries episodes as soon as they go live, and also access our extensive back catalog of Patreon-exclusive podcasts—over 100 to date!

Here's what's on the schedule for February:

The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog - "Zoobotnik" [Patreon: 2/7/22 - Free Feed: 2/14/22]

Back in 2020, we covered the ABC Saturday morning Sonic cartoon, so it was only a matter of time until we tackled the other one. And this month, we'll do just that with returning guest Ian-Jones Quartey. Listen in and learn why this cartoon largely seen as the inferior Sonic show contains some qualities worth appreciating!

You can watch this episode legally on YouTube.

Talking Futurama - "Time Keeps on Slippin'" [Patreon: 2/14/22]

After a few lackluster episodes, we're moving on to an all-time Futurama classic: one that tells an incredibly ambitious story while deepening the Fry/Leela relationship storyline. And if none of this sounds interesting to you, you may enjoy the significant presence of The Harlem Globetrotters!

TalKing of the Hill - "I Remember Mono" [Patreon: 2/25/22]

King of the Hill finally gets its own "The Way We Was" with this episode that flashes back to the early days of the Hills' 1970s high school relationship. But Peggy's romantic view of their past could be shattered after she finds out an illness Hank suffered in high school may have been caused by cheating.

An Extended Free Preview of What A Cartoon Movie for South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut [Patreon: 2/28/22 - Free Feed: 3/7/22]

After over three years of What A Cartoon Movie, at long last we're taking on one of the most significant adult animated movies ever made. Coming less than two years after South Park's shockingly popular debut, Bigger, Longer, and Uncut could have been a cheap cash-in to collect a few more million at the end of a passing fad. But this movie ended up being much more ambitious than anyone was expecting, and signified that South Park wasn't doomed to be a collection of catchphrases destined to die out before the 21st century.

The entire film is on Paramount Plus currently.

And remember: $5 patrons and folks on the free feed will hear an extended preview of the podcast, but if you want the whole thing (and access to all other episodes of What A Cartoon Movie) you'll have to bump your subscription up to the $10 level.

That's it for us this month! We're hoping to keep everyone out there sane as 2022 continues its slow rollout.

Woo! I’m very hyped for this month’s WAC. My brother and I have a deep appreciation for Adventures of Sonic’s version of Robotnik. He’s probably one of my favorite villains of all time

Can't wait for Futurama and King of the Hill. Also, I was wondering what season(s) are next for the Talking Simpsons schedule? You only have a few episodes left in seasons 2 and 12.

Same. ^_^ Edit: posting another plug for the "iteachvader" YouTube channel. Those music remixes are so good!

with the Sonic movie coming out, shoulda covered the AoS equivalent of when Robotnik got the chaos emeralds. I think time travel was involved too

Killer lineup this month!

Just finished watching Zoobotnik... Man, you forget just how crazy this show is! :D Also, "I hate that hedgehog" deserves to be brought back as a catchphrase. It's just as good as "Gotta go fast!"

We're covering AoStH at this time precisely because of the Discotek release coming out. Additionally, while we considered the TMS-animated eps like the Chaos Emeralds 4 parter, we ultimately wanted to go with one of the most infamously wacky, like Zoobotnik. But rest assured that we talk of TMS's involvement in the series. - Henry

Bob said on the episode of Podcast the Ride they were on that just came out that they would be putting out season 3/13 episodes by now, which I assume was a problem of not knowing exactly when that episode would come out since I'm pretty sure they haven't technically announced that yet. What I'm wondering is if we'll get a Stark Raving Dad redux or not. If they have made a statement on that one way or another I haven't seen it, but it feels like they definitely would because there is a lot more to say about it this time.

I guess we haven’t officially announced it, but we haven’t meant to be unclear about it. We are continuing our redo with Season 3 soon. We have grown a ton as researchers since then, have learned more on the show’s history, we want to discuss those eps with our cool guests, and for eps like Stark Raving Dad there is new ground to cover. So yes, starting in March it’ll be season 13 and 3 interchangeably like we did with 12 and 2. - Henry
