Another brand new month on the Talking Simpsons Network, and as before, we've got our monthly poll to pick the next subject of our premium podcast, What A Cartoon Movie! Each month we record a fresh, extra-long podcast about an animated film, and then release it for our $10 Patreon subscribers. And when we open up the voting, we want to let all the $5 folks have a chance to be heard as well so they can help pick episodes they might enjoy down the line. And as noted in our recent updated schedule, an extended preview of this movie podcast will now be our last What A Cartoon! episode released each month in the regular feed!

For February 2020, we wanted to do more Disney classics, but from a very specific era of the company: The 1980s! It was a tumultuous time for the house of mouse, and one of four great candidates from that decade for our next What A Cartoon Movie!

The Black Cauldron, the 1985 film that went through HUGE changes in production and threatened to end Disney feature animation forever!

The Great Mouse Detective, the 1986 adaptation of Basil of Bleaker Street that helped restart the anemic theatrical branch!

Oliver & Company, nothing screams "1988" more than Dickens meets Billy Joel!

The Little Mermaid, the modern classic that starts the Disney Renaissance and closed out the '80s with a promise of the company's biggest decade ever!
