We had a huge May of Simpsons news to deal with in this extra-long community podcast! Not only the season 35 finale and a new Disney Plus short, but also a ton of headline-grabbing interviews that sparked a lot of discussion. Then we chat about all we watched and played this month, tease some upcoming podcasts, and (as always) respond to our favorite Patreon comments!

Not to defend the shorts but I think the Disney characters being white instead of yellow is a stylistic choice and not a mandate. It's consistent with how characters from Archie Comics, The Flintstones, King of the Hill, South Park, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, Futurama, even the Powerpuff Girls and Daria have been depicted in the show (Jay Sherman being a huge exception). Also this only applies to Disney's animated stuff, MCU and Star Wars characters get to be yellow because they're live-action.

All of this Coke vs Pepsi discussion, when suddenly Dr Pepper is tied for second! I confess, it’s been my cola of choice. And when I hit a Freestyle machine, I often wind up making do with a Mr Pibb-based concoction. I accept your likely mockery and stand fast with my dark horse candidate. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2024/06/08/dr-pepper-pepsi-popular-sodas-tie/74000183007/

BTW - I listed to the Gayest Episode Ever on Drawn Together based on the recommendation. It was great! I think you guys are slightly off the hook covering it, though your angle would have to go into the fact that this is a really good-looking/expensive show at the end of a period where a lot of corporate money was stuffed into puerile/asinine content (i.e. the SpikeTV block that featured the Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon). A time capsule of what mid-aughts "adult" animation was for sure.
