Pumpkin update *cries resin tears* (Patreon)

Hey y’all. We demolded Chunk, and he looked pretty bad. Like, SO much promise with his clarity and how fresh he still looked (unlike Meatball, who already looked sorta moldy when we demolded him). But the warping of the resin really took a toll on him.

I’d like to point out he’s still SUPER orange (not looking moldy/decomposed already like Meatball was) and the resin is really clear. But still… the warping was so bad. Plus there were a lot of large bubbles on the surface, creating thin “shells” of resin that prevented us from doing a pour-over coat of resin. So we decided to sand down the surface bubbles and smooth out some of the missing chunks by power carving him, hoping to make him look like an ice cube shape.

We did a final resin pour over him and… gosh we are so torn. Again, his color and the resin clarity are SO GOOD. The warping is SO BAD. And we feel like we are SO CLOSE to a perfectly clear cube with a perfectly orange pumpkin. So we are gonna try again. That’s right… we’re making a Chunk 2.  -Katelyn
