Hey guys! We’ve been making good progress on the giant laptop project, and we’re also realizing it’s gonna be a lot more work than expected. We’ve added a few elements that are starting to really bring the vision together - especially this 43” monitor and MASSIVE keyboard

But there’s still so, so much to add. We actually had to bust out a folding table just to handle overflow supplies. I was initially hoping to power the PC elements with DC power supplies but I just was not able to find an achievable solution that was small enough and that put out enough watts, so much of these just went into our supplies stash for later.

But one thing I AM planning to over-do is how power is managed. For some unexplainable reason I want to make this truly functional, even though much of the work will likely not make it to the final video. I want to be able to plug in the laptop into an outlet and have that power charge the batteries and also take over for the PC and display. Then when we want to go into “mobile laptop” mode we flip a switch to run everything off batteries.

We also got this big ABS sheeting that we can use to cover all the electronics and make a border around the laptop to hopeful make things look seamless! -Evan

I know nothing about computers but even I can see the technological and comedic genius of GIANT COMPUTER. If you are able to make it fully functional, what are you hoping to do with it? Watch giant videos of the supurrvisor perhaps? See if you can handle playing a game on it?

I would love to see you walk in and use your laptop at your local coffee shop. 😎

Oh it's gonna be fully functional! And I have no idea what we'll do with it, that's for future Evan and Katelyn to figure out -K
