Hey guys! Thought we’d share some more about our streaming room makeover, specifically an odd choice we made.

First off, I’ll talk about our wall “reflector.” So for lights hitting our faces we prefer indirect light, so we usually bounce the light off a white wall. Well, the walls in this room are navy so bouncing it didn’t do us much good. We considered hanging white fabric on the wall or mounting some white canvases, but those options sounded bulky and messy. We considered painting that wall white, or painting just a section of the wall white in an arch shape. That sounded like a pain though because we’d need multiple coats, and it would be annoying to undo if we changed our minds. And then we realized… we could order a big white arch-shaped wall decal!

So before we ordered it we mocked it up with some butcher paper to test with our lights. It worked so then I photoshopped it (with a bit more curve) to make sure we liked the look.

We liked the photoshop mockup, so we decided to pull the trigger! It’s not the most normal way of bouncing light around but I think it works pretty well and looks more like room decor than part of a video set up. You can see the real, non-photoshopped version below right after we stuck on the vinyl.

Pretty proud of our out-of-the-box solution :)

I still find it hilarious that you have seven monitors for one desk :)
