So for the next video we had some fun just messing around with lots of new things - our new vacuum former, combining resin with concrete, and using potatoes to make molds which was way more fun and hilarious to us than it probably should have been haha. Hoping to release this one Tuesday but it depends on when we hear back from the sponsor (Quikrete). So for now, thought we'd post some pictures here!

Watching the plastic in the vacuum former starting to drip is oddly satisfying and oddly exhilarating. There's a perfect moment when you drop it down and you don't want to do it too late or too early.

We officially have silicone mats big enough for our whole workbench which is so. dang. awesome. Because even with the plastic sheets we've used in the last resin projects, we still managed to get it on the workbench haha.

Resin is like.... THE most fun thing to just experiment with. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but it's one of those things that's just satisfying and pretty to do. We did sooooooo many pours.

Going back to the "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't" thing.... we had a lot of it not working on this project. It was all on us and our impatience, but it definitely taught us to play it a little more safe and not just assume it'll all work out in the end. We talk about it a lot in the aftershow so we won't go into it too much here also but we basically ended up melting a lot of our molds... whoops!

Anyways just wanted to give y'all a preview! This was a really fun one to film even though things didn't exactly go as planned - success or not, goofing around in the shop together is the best thing.

When I was little one of my very favorite toys was called a "Vac-U-form". Never forgave Mom for throwing it out! I'll bet you are having the same good experience.... Looking forward to seeing your video as always... http://www.samstoybox.com/toys/Vac-U-Form.html

Are you looking to make resin crystals with these molds? Must admit the resin stuff doesn't float my boat but you approach continues to be entertaining.
