Hey everyone! Could not wait to share this with y'all :D

We're trying to make a summer related project and our minds somehow went to super soakers, so we of course thought it would be fun to make our own out of plumbing parts!

Definitely going though some learning pains as we tinker around with the design but it has also been a ton of fun.

The main hurdle to overcome is how to ensure that water comes out of the nozzle instead of air as you tilt the blaster around. Super soakers overcome this by using a hose that goes down to the lowest point where water will collect. That's a bit complicated though using off the shelf parts so our solution for now was just to move the nozzle to the bottom... which still does not always work when the blaster is tilted like shown above.

Awesome! I can't wait to see this. Is there a water tank in your design? I don't think the super soaker hose would be too difficult to replicate. You really just need a weight on the end of the hose. The size of the weight would depend on the flexibility of the hose. Or you can put baffles of a sort in your tank to prevent sloshing. Another solution is a second smaller tank filled by the big tank that would stay full until you get to the end. This would prevent sloshing and extra air.

Thanks! The water tank is built into the body itself - we just made it even bigger 😁😁 We currently have a hose running to a little smaller reservoir that water from the big tank falls into and that system is working pretty well!!

Good to hear. I'm glad i was on the right page.
