We poured and demolded and sanded and finished concrete for days and days, then it was finally time to do the final assembly of the keyboard.

We were 90% done assembling it, starting with the smaller keys, but then the spacebar wouldn’t attach. It was like the stems weren’t quite lining up or something. We got a bit more vigorous and… it broke :’( Luckily we had another spacebar (which Evan revealed to me he’d already broken and super glued back together) so we tried to attach it and… that one broke too!!!! So we superglued them BOTH back together and Evan used the heat gun to soften the plastic inserts and FINALLY we got it to fit. But it was a close one!!

This honestly looks so cool and it feels so cool to type on. It really feels like little stones. And yes… there’s no letters/numbers/symbols so you gotta remember where your keys are at. But we never said it’d be the most functional keyboard ;P it is really fun to type on though. The concrete keys have a really fun weight to them and they make a really satisfying THUNK noise when we type. Can’t wait to share the full video later this month! -Katelyn
