Progress on the robot project! (Patreon)

There’s been lots of (somewhat disjointed) progress being made on the robotic dog Furby project so we thought we’d update you! First off, we decided on which form factor we want the Furby to take and we went with the “centaur” version (or as I think of him… the llama). This form should not interfere with the sensors the robot needs to move, and we like the look.

We tested whether or not the robot can hold the additional weight we’ll be putting on him (you can see the weight in the first pic) and the good news is he can totally maneuver, stand up, and do some tricks with the weight. We also went to the store and picked up some fur to cover the robot with.

We’re gonna go with gray for most of him, and pink on his belly. The reason for the gray is mostly because we have to leave some areas exposed (like joints) and the robot himself is gray so it feels like it’ll blend in nicely with gray fur -Katelyn
