Pianoteq is a suite of physical modeling software that can do a huge variety of pianos and other instruments. It's quite frankly amazing, and in this video we explore the software, play some sounds, and then we stress test it on some portable computers while my partner judges the marimba sounds.

Great sounds! I recently bought the Zynthian which is an open source small raspberry pi based system with a great audio interface on board, and it also comes with pianoteq on it, I still need to finish the assembling but I am really look ing forward trying out pianoteq. Jan beat me to it; was going to say the same thing. You don’t need to buy a Zynthian (they are not cheap), just a Raspberry Pi, as Zynthian is based on that. You’ll probably want to add a daughterboard with decent audio DAC and MIDI like the Blokas PiSound, plus a Raspberry pi touch screen. About $250 or so for the 3 parts.
