Well, it's here. It's good. Sounds fun. Nice play. Wow, synth.

Here's my video on it: https://youtu.be/fmb6GlWJKzs

In all seriousness, I could absolutely recommend this synth to anyone, assuming it's in your budget. It's not too menu divey, it sounds great, and makes FM pretty fun and easy to mess with. It even fucks with DX-7 patches.

Downsides:

Cheap build overall
No aftertouch (Suckkkkks)
Only 3 main LFOs and Envelopes

While each operator has its own envelope, as you would expect, they don't have the ability to loop or offset their start. Attack offset on an FM envelope is really important to me.

Only 3 LFOs also kinda bites. It's hard to really get in there and do super creative stuff with the timing of the ways the operators interact.

That said, TONS of sound potential here. Really good. Attached are my tracks I made with just it and some drums from Ableton.

What are your thoughts on this vs, say, Dexed or Arturia's DX7 V software synths, paired with a dedicated controller midi mapped to work similarly to this UI? I absolutely love the UI design and functionality of the OPSIX, but it's always super hard for me to justify purchasing a digital hardware synth, because I always just end up comparing them to what's available in software -- often for way cheaper, even if you include the cost of a control surface.

Dammit Jeremy, first Digitone and now this? I probably have some weakness for FM synths. Do you reckon they are diverse enough to warrant having both of them (Digitone and opsix, that is)?
