With a few weeks of lessons under the bridge, one of the most exciting things I've found is talking to people who really don't have a ton of theory under their belt. Theory isn't everything, but a basic understanding of scales, intervals, and chords goes a LONG way in being able to identify song structure and melody.

I've been sending people over to  http://www.piano-keyboard-guide.com/key-of-c-minor.html to get a sense of the basic C-Minor scale and some chords related to it.

For an intro to Ableton, there's  https://learningmusic.ableton.com/

Today in the Discord someone posted a link to Omni ( https://femurdesign.com/omni/ ) which I think is an absolutely wonderful way to play around with scales and get a sense of how they *sound*. A lot of these scales are more exotic than what you might compose in, but there are normal scales in there too.

Getting a sense of how notes relate to each other (intervals) in a particular key and scale are great tools for making music. Hope these links help!

Omni - Play & learn about musical scales from around the world.

I made this app for anyone to play and listen to how different musical scales sound. A scale is simply a collection of tones. The major scale for instance has 7 different tones, but by changing the pitches of these we can completely change the mood and feel of music.

Great resources, thanks for sharing! Omni is particularly useful in exploring common grounds on scales and new horizons alike! :D
