Hi all! It's almost 2020. Wild, right?

NEW ALBUM

First big news: I've got a new album coming out December 6th. It's called Object Permanence, and I'm really proud of it. It features a whole slew of new tracks, many of which have vocals, as well as the OP-1 tracks that I've done this year. All 3 of them. Woo.

You can pre-save the album on Spotify here: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/jeremyblake/object-permanence

And you can download a super-cool wallpaper of the album art attached to this post. My good friend Gravis (https://twitter.com/gravislizard/) did the art for it.

The album will be available on all services, and I'll have some downloads and Bandcamp codes to give out here once it's available.

I'M OUT OF IDEAS

It's not uncommon after a big project to feel a little out of sorts, and this year is no different. Between the Winter and finishing the album, I'm feeling sort of hollowed out, and really struggling for ideas and motivation when it comes to making videos.

We can do another Patreon Q+A (I'll post about it soon), and we can do another round of Patron track mastering (I'll post about that too), but other than that I really got nothing.

I'd love to hear any ideas you may have for videos you'd like to see.

Thanks for being patrons,

-j

Hey Jeremy, two ideas about videos. We talked about this before, I'd really enjoy some details about coming up with ideas for a specific piece of music. So something like scoring a short scene and explaining the decisions you're making. Maybe a bit like the OP-1 videos but with a focus on why you're doing what you're doing. And the other thing I'd enjoy is some lower effort artsy stuff. Maybe like the individual pieces of your Equator videos. Anyway, looking forward to hearing the album! :-)

What I always find interesting is something like a gear tour. Not only listing all the hard- and software you own, but why you own it, what you do with it, and especially how you use them together. (hardware with hardware, hardware with software, software with software, sounds with effects...) You may have done such a video already but if, I was unable to find it 😄
