Heyo!

On the zoom call last weekend, the fanfics I've written became a topic of conversation. I believe I offered to post a link here for anyone who was interested in reading it, and have gotten a couple of messages requesting it, as well!

This fic was written last year for the tv show Motherland Fort Salem, which was a genuinely fascinating look into an alternate version of the modern world if witches were real. Not only real, but militarized. I loved the world building in the show and how they played with this reality changing different aspects of the world we live in (more matriarchal, female president, etc).

Unlike the majority of the fics I've written in my time, this one is canon. And if you are not big on fandom lingo (I am a fandom old and have been reading fics and whatnot for 20 years at this point!), canon simply means - in line with what is written in the show. My favorite fics to read and write tended to be Alternate Universe, but... I couldn't resist playing in the dynamics of this world.

So, I wrote an 86,000 word story filled with yearning (so much), mutual respect amidst a power imbalance, and the closest I've ever come to an ice queen (so far, but I have some ideas).

If you haven't watched the show but are interested in reading the fic, I've uploaded a very nerdy and impassioned explanation, including character backgrounds and relevant plot information to provide context!

Once in A Lifetime

(I also have taken a seed of a fanfic idea I got for this show and have potential plans of writing it into a full length original novel with witches. One day...)

(I am aware that there is a typo in the pdf and I apologize for it; it bothers me too)

I read this as it was posted and immediately after a couple of chapters searched out the series. It’s so great! Time for a re-read

Now I distinctly remember you talking about a Bishova fanfic once upon a moon

Listen, I HAVE like ~40k of a Bishova fic done! I just don't have the time to finish it... so I reread it, sometimes, longingly
