TUTORIAL: How to install cards on Honey Select (Patreon)
Content
Attention: The cards and scenes available are exclusive to Honey Select 1- ver 1.20 with update 630 patch.
Char Cards:
Character cards are divided into male and female. Pay attention to their nomenclature: Female characters have their filenames beginning with "charaF" and male characters with "charaM". Some male-looking characters are created from a female body, so their files start with "charaF" and should be placed in the female characters folder. The "bonemod" files need to go together in their respective folders.
Path to install female characters:
\UserData\chara\female\
Path for installing male characters:
\UserData\chara\male\
Scene Cards:
All my scenes are made to run in the StudioNEO version. Pay attention to using the NEO version that comes in the game.
Path for installing scene cards:
\UserData\studioneo\scene
Because of the (lazy) coding of the game, it is very possible for both char and scene cards to open faulty. At this point, you need to install and run the most important plugin of all: HSResoloveMoreSlotID v1.5. This plugin, among other wonders, reads the chars and scene cards and lists which mods are included in them, and if you don't have them (very likely), it will indicate a link to download each mod. In the future I will make a post dedicated to this plugin and how to solve problems with open scenes with wrong objects.
Honey Select has two game modes: The first one is the "game" mode, where you are in a kind of resort and have the characters at your disposal. In this mode, the animations are pre-set by the game and are unlocked through achievements that the player makes throughout the relationship with the characters.
It is in this mode that there is Chratacter Studio, where you create/edit characters to either use in the game itself, or in Studio mode creating scenes. There are great tutorials about Character Studio on youtube, so I won't cover them here.
What is relevant to talk about it in relation to my characters is that I practically don't use the "game" mode only the "Studio" mode, so I don't pay attention in the character creation step to the "personality" part, so if by chance you play the game with a character of mine and it behaves differently from the anime, it's because I didn't give a compatible personality in the creation stage. You can do this, in character studio without any problems. There are all sorts of different personalities, definitely one that fits the character you're editing.
If there is any doubt, I strongly recommend joining the Illusion Soft channel on Discord. It is the best source of content for Illusion games like Honey Select (1 and 2), koikatsu, Playhome, among others.
