Dev Log 0.36c: Magical Mammeries (Patreon)

Ah... Finally that message that Haily's pregnancy isn't complete is gone. That's right boys and girls, she's done!

Well, I may add on a mail about her with her baby like Alex has, but I feel like taking a little break from Haily for now. She is absolutely wonderful, but she is just in so many scenes! I mentioned it last week that constantly reviewing and rewriting scenes is painful work, even with our favourite cowgirl. You're looking for those nuggets of extra wonderfulness you can add in without disrupting the rest of the flow or accidentally creating more work.

In this case there is a total review of the hottub scene. This is the single largest scene of the game. To put that in perspective, this one scene is 50% larger than both Fuckmore games combined. There is a new scene for it if both the girls are pregnant. There might also be more... it was all blurring together at the end there.

Similarly there was also a redux of the Alex and Haily adventure scene, which I don't think was even converted for Alex pregnancy. This scene, is also ridiculously large.

These two things really chewed up a bunch of time.

And by the time they were done, the next thing up on the ticket was another scene redux. I was just like... I'm done with scene reduxes for this week.

Instead, I tackled a missing part of the memory from visiting Haily's farm. At long last, you can meet Bess. Enjoy.

So next up is, in all likelyhood, Carla pregnancy.

After all the issues I was having I just turned to Fantasy, who's been chomping at the bit for this and I says to him:
Give me a cute date stretched out over the weekend. I'll handle the rest.

None of this endless redux stuff. Sure, it would be easier for Carla, but it's real low effort stuff and it's not actually much faster than just writing new stuff. Dulls the noggin and all that. I want to write a story about two expectant parents who love each other very much and are just giddy with it.

Besides that I will be spending story time this week driving someone to the airport (Yes at 1am), and probably playing some Mech Engineers. It's a game that's no where near as brutal as it seems.

Though I've also been watching video essays on games with meta narratives. I promise I wont let it influence me... Much... Or influence Cabin at least... Except for the existing meta narrative which has existed since day one.
