I'm currently drawing backgrounds and character sketches for the next animation, but I still haven't decided what to do.

I'm going to use other characters (in YCH format) in this animation. I like to work with other characters sometimes, especially if my favorites come along. :3

But so far I myself don’t know what to do, make an auction, how other authors should do it. Or how to act like last time by organizing an event among Patreon subscribers.

In any case, this time I will demonstrate the rough scenes of this animation, perhaps this way I can attract more people to take part in the event/auction.

I can already say that it will be an animation with three characters and several animated and static (like in the last animation) scenes.

I welcome your opinion in the comments, perhaps I will highlight your idea. :)

I think it depends on your objective for the animation. Based on the commission price sheet, the owner of Magma won at least $1,000 worth of animation from the raffle (up to ~$2,600 depending on how it would have been charged), not counting the static scenes and the fact that some loops ended. It would be extremely generous of you to organize another Patreon-only event since many people cannot afford this, but it is also an expensive loss for you unless a large number of people join the Patreon for a chance to win. If the community learns that these events happen on a regular basis, it may help grow the Patreon over time. I would also say it is usually a good idea to disqualify previous winners for a short time so highly popular designs do not win several times in a row since that can create negative feelings or an impression of bias. An auction is better for short-term gain. I think you could start at $1000 and receive several bids if you present some sketches _and_ link back to 'Breaking the Habit' as an example of the final product. It is also good to have a highly-priced 'auto-buy' option to immediately win the auction if someone is dedicated and has extra money. If you use an auction, it would be good to make the sketches public as you create them so more people learn about it. You also mention 'favorite' characters. If it is more fulfilling to you to use those characters, then you should use them (if they are public or you receive permission) if the satisfaction will be greater than an auction or Patreon event. If they are a non-corporate character, perhaps their owners might contribute some funds, but it is unlikely and probably far below what is fair to you, so it would be primarily for your enjoyment. In this specific case, it sounds like there is a chance to use two of the strategies if you wish. Or you could try an auction, then use a Patreon event if the result is not satisfactory. Of course, this is all observation from a non-artist, so please do not give it too much weight. Thank you for continuing to create and share your work with us in any case!

While I'm still undecided, I'm currently leaning towards organizing a new event instead of an auction. The development of Patreon page is a long-term goal for me. However, for now, I have not yet found the best way to involve more participants in future animations. This time I’ll try to draw a sketch of all the scenes in advance, and also give a link to the previous animation with Magma, maybe this will be of more interest. The fact of the matter is that some of my favorite characters belong to other members of the community :) . Of course, I won't break my own rules because of this, but I was pleased to see some of my favorite characters included in the latest list. :3 . Unfortunately, it will not be possible to make a rollback after the auction, since in any case there will be people willing to take part in it. In any case, thanks for your words!
