I worked in a movie theater in 1999 and people lost *all sense* when this movie came out. Austin Powers 2 and South Park: BLU had the two most consistent howling-and-rolling-in-the-aisles laughing movie audiences I’ve ever seen. I personally think the original holds up better on and I’m a defender of the utter absurdity of the third one, but I can’t deny that TSWSM went off like a BOMBSHELL. ALSO: this movie forged neural pathways in my little teenage brain and American Woman has become forever linked to Heather Graham in short-shorts.
