S04E11 Data's Day S04E12 The Wounded

Well I think the thumbnail speaks for itself for how I felt about the Data episode! So cool to see O'Brien getting some screen time in both eps too! Engage! 🖖

Jen, your comment about sticking to the registry sent me into a mental deep dive on the meaning of gifts in a world where you can replicate anything you want with the say of a word. I feel like you would see more hand made custom gifts then something official. I personally love mental deep dives into odd things like this lmao!

It took me a few views of "Data's Day" to realize Data was writing to Commander Maddox - The guy who wanted to take Data apart on season 2 "Measure of a Man". At the end of that one, Data suggested Maddox keep at his work, and that he finds much of what he's doing... intriguing". So, apparently they kept contact with one another.

O’Brien gets good episodes in deep space none should you eventually watch those

The episode "Data's Day" was highly anticipated as a standout of the season, and this reaction certainly lived up to expectations. I really enjoyed how the timing of Jen's remarks often amusingly coincided with the on-screen happenings and lines. Star Trek was always great in these character centric episodes, which is a significant reason why the shows from the 90s are so endearing to me. While such episodes might be seen as mere fillers in other series, in Star Trek, they contribute substantially to character depth, offering insights into the characters that aren't typically revealed in standard episodes. PS: welcome to 1991.

Have watched one so far, wonderful reaction, Jen. 💜 What a fab episode Data's Day is, the only a bit I remembered was his cat's appearance. Great to see another Sherlock Holmes reference by Data, are you excited for the film Sherlock Holmes 3? You said the Romulan warships look so evil, their shape reminds me of the xenomorph / Alien's head. When O'Brien comes to see Data for very serious advice... Data "Would you like a pillow, or some Brahms?" 😂😂😂 Data does have a lot to offer, he is fully functional. And Tasha Yar had no complaints. 👍👍 Great dance scene, Bev's hairband was very pretty. Data's "smile". 😂

Lmfao that guy DID look like Toby Maguire 🤣

Catching up on TNG now, so glad you finally got to The Wounded. One of the most underrated TNG episodes, in my opinion. I think this episode becomes only more poignant once you have seen Deep Space Nine, but its also really good too, without that context. That song they sing at the end is an old, old Irish song. Written by the Irish poet Thomas Moore in the 1800's. Whole lotta historical context regarding the struggle for Irish independence with that song.

If you want more O'Brien and Cardassians, I have three words for you. Deep Space Nine.
