The Bad News First:
Firstly: my job has gotten much more stressful and demanding of late. I have the kind of bosses who prefer to respond to under-performance by routinely threatening employee jobs instead of analyzing why the market might be turning against a company that consistently does things its customers do not want. It all leaves me drained much more intensely at the end of the work week now than it was doing a few months ago, which means I have a lot less creative energy to use for writing the kind of stories I want to produce.
Secondly: This reduction in energy is compounded by the fact that Seasonal Affective Disorder (winter blues on steroids) is hitting me unusually hard in the face this year. It gets dark here around like 4pm lately, which is just killer for my mood and level of energy. Fortunately, I came up with a way to brighten the inside of my living environment a bit so that I don't notice the day-to-night transition so much, which is helping.
Now The Good - AMAZING - News:
I have finally reached the point where I can transition to writing FULL TIME. Unless things drastically change in the next few weeks, I will be leaving my full-time hourly day job within four weeks, and beginning life as a full-time, professional author after the New Year. What this means for ME is that I will get to write 40-50ish hours a week, instead of the 10-20 that I usually have, which means I will get to produce much more content much more quickly. And that's great, because I have SO MANY IDEAS that I want to work on, and being confined to 10-20 hours a week makes it extremely hard for me to get through with one idea before the urge to write something else becomes all I can think about, lol.
Additionally, What This Means for the Patreon is that I will probably be doing away with the $10 dollar tier, and changing my fundraising goals. I will keep the 1 and 5 dollar tiers as they are, and hope that being able to spend 3-4 times as much time on writing will mean I have more time to share developments and upcoming content with you all here, making my Patreon more fun and worthwhile for my amazing fans.
In rest-of-the-month news, I'd also add that I'm working really hard on trying to finish two stories this weekend (at least one, for sure), and that I hope to get the first installment of my Christmas-themed story out next weekend, before the Holiday. I hope to get the second installment out by New Years', and the rest in January.
NEXT YEAR: I hope to have time to finish up FINDERS KEEPERS in January and to pop out a few other shorts that I've been tinkering with, while I work on my first Gender-Bending LITRPG Novel on the side. I'd like to be reliably able to finish one-to-two erotica novellas a month and one novel every two months.
Happy Holidays everyone, I hope everyone has a great season.
