Today I'm deciding to show the process from the newest comic I've made. What was suppose to be a quick short comic turned out to be a lot more work than anticipated. The image above shows the process, these are the steps I took.

1.  I rendered a very plain model, not much detail, no backgrounds. If I stopped here, it would have been a very quick comic to make.

2.  I ran the image though the smoothing filter to remove further detail. The shape and color are what are important.

3-4.  This is the longest process. I ran the image though a photocopy filter to get the basic outline of the character but that alone looks incredibly ugly. I went in, erased unnecessary lines, and drew in my own for a more authentic hand drawn feeling.

5.  Add a background which I rendered earlier. I don't show it here, but in the final version I also run it though outline filtering.

6.  This step is to make the image pop. I adjust the contrast, brightness, and vibrancy to make colors stand out.

Final.   In the final version there are a few effects added which you may or may not notice. Such a motion blur and extra coloring.

Wow! With that level of detail, no wonder it took a while. Very interesting stuff, and well done for managing this for every panel.
